Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dopey ***** are still defending deep, like there's anything at all to lose at this point

Game is over, may as well keep it relatively respectable.

The problems here are two-fold I think.. bad management, and we just don't have the players unfortunately (partly because we're a small country, also because of GAA)

    And now it's 4 :(

Denmark have a population just 1M more than us.

Iceland has a population less than 10% of ours.

Liam Brady and Eamonn Dunphy would have done a better job than that shower even with their walking sticks.
The Brady Bunch would have done better.

Subs at half time killed our chances. We were struggling enough to get the ball without taking off the only 2 midfielders who could get it.

Great ball by Wes and run by Long, shame he can't score at all at all

Meh, all this arguing about tactics. Had McClean or Murphy's efforts crept inside the post when we were one up it's a very different outcome. You can trace each of the four goals back to individual errors. It's not a coaching / tactical thing as any gameplan would be undone by errors of that nature.

The players take the blame unfortunately.

The surrender song being sung now.

    Just going to post that.

That's very harsh. You have been well beaten but their is no disgrace in getting knocked out at this stage of a tournament.

Well MON's not being blamed for just losing today, he's being blamed for not qualifying from a very winnable group.

For the people wondering what Wes H offers to the team....we just saw it....defence splitting pass to an out of form striker.

    It's the reality though.

What would you change at grassroots level? Smaller pitches? No competitive football until you’re 15? More emphasis on passing? A formation used from u13 upwards?

It's all well and good being the "best fans in the world" when everything is going well.

Those lads leaving early would want to be ashamed...you take your hammering.

It's all all the bandwagon fans, the true supporters will stay to the end.

We go one up, at home, against Denmark...and concede four... And a crowd full of morons singing the fields of Athenry ...

Its a fu*king joke, the players let us down big time tonight. They should be booed off the pitch, no other country in the world would cheer on their team after performance like that.

The problem with Ireland is that we think results like this are accepted because we have the " we're only a small country", but demark don't have a much bigger population than us...
