Saw poster on the bus. I personally thought it was a bit nasty trying to muddy the waters by calling dairy milk 'plant based'.

    What do you think?

ASAI have had more than enough evidence presented and wont accept any more. If you want you can still raise a complaint with the European advertising standards alliance here >>> http://www.easa-alliance.org/content/online-complaint-form

They have already changed their facebook page to "looking for real milk hydration" whatever the Funk that is???

If your up for a laugh have a look at the page. I'm sure you will leave a glowing review.

The ASAI will accept more complaints - they have just stated that they don't 'need' anymore in order to investigate it.

I have not received the decision as yet.

Send your complaints to advertising standards in Ireland http://www.asai.ie/make-a-complaint/make-a-complaint/ and for Europe: http://www.easa-alliance.org/content/online-complaint-form

Even if they have enough complaints they should know the amount of people that are annoyed by it.

    Thanks for bringing this up.

I saw a poster the other day and was like "What theF?"

I use both dairy and plant based milk and was pretty shocked at the tactic.... I have just been on their website.

    They're obviously worried.

Just to warn people expecting the ASAI to do something - they'll almost certainly say its misleading and "not to be run" but they have zero powers of enforcement. Ryanair in the old days had countless ads slapped down without any impact at all.

What is the point of them then haha.
    Who actually enforces things?

The BAI can (and do) ban broadcast adverts, print advertising and outdoor are close to unregulated except for certain categories that have legislation.

I've not seen this ad anywhere other than outdoor as yet

If it has been broadcast on an Irish regulated station you can complain to the BAI but you need an accurate date/time and station or else the complaint will be dismissed as invalid. They would likely find it misleading and stop it being broadcast again

Milk produced in a grass based system could be plant based milk milk I suppose. Don't see the issue. You could nearly say it's made from grass tbh.

Eating lettuce is over three times worse in greenhouse gas emissions than eating bacon, it requires way more energy per calorie.

Anyway relax, hardly worth having a hissy fit over. Sit back and have a vegan biscuit and a cup of water.

The old lettuce v bacon argument again - usually countered by the fact that 3 slices of bacon has the same calories as 3.5 kilos of lettuce, so unless you need a good sleep (as I'm sure being such an expert you are aware that lettuce contains lactucarium which is of course a sedative), then you won't be imposing that much calorific dept as consuming bacon.

On another note if you can't contribute something intelligent to the forum take it somewhere else please.
