Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The League Of Gentlemen is superb, but Harry Enfield mid-90's is up there, albeit a bit dated now obviously.

Not the best by any means but worth a viddy nonetheless

    Chewin' the fat

Like a Scottish version of the Fast Show but a bit more hit and miss. Some great recurring characters (Ronald Villiers & Rab McGlinchy especially). Might have went under the radar for a lot of folk who didn't have BBC Scotland

Skip straight to season 2 I'd say - a lot of faltering and feet finding in season one.

Harry Enfield and Paul Allen are very good. Also enjoyed Mitchell & Webb.

Just rewatched league of gentleman season 1 recently, brilliant.
Am watching season 2 now, it's hit and miss, the laughs are not as frequent, can be a bit too serious at times..some really weird sketches too..

Little Britain or Smack the Pony

For me, off the top of my head, it'd be Harry Enfield and Chums along with The Two Ronnies. Dave Allen, too, of course. Damn it, Little Britian as well.

Agree with Fast Show, Harry Enfield, Dave Allen, Chewing the Fat (Also check out Burnistoun) and the Two Ronnies. Especially this sketch from the Two Ronnies, I love the way they fcuk around with local English colloquialism.

And a brilliant one from Burnistoun, the most recent Scottish comedy to emerge, following in the footsteps of Still Game, Dear Green Place. Rab. C. Nesbitt and Chewing the Fat.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Fast Show would be my personal favourite. Love all the characters but Dave Angel is special.

    The Fast Show.
    The League Of Gentlemen.
Jam (Not for all tastes I'll admit)
    Brass Eye.
    Most of Harry Enfields stuff.
Monty Pythons Flying Circus though it has dated. Think their movies have aged better or at least Life Of Brian has.

    Never liked Little Britain.

Not sure Brass Eye was a sketch show as such. But any excuse to post this:

Ye as with Trigger Happy. I suppose I associate them and think they fit for sketch show too because of all the recurring jokes and characters.

A bit of Fry and Laurie. You can see flashes of the sketch shows that were to follow later like a league of gentleman and the fast show in it.

Dick Emery was good. My father wouldn't miss it when it was on.
