    Hi,

Heading to Austria for a few days in a few days, only just got my debit card/chequing account open last week (I had a savings account previously). Will the card work out there as a debit card? Also, is there a way to use either of my atm cards out there?

    Hi Loblox,

Thanks for your post here on Boards.

Please activate your Visa debit card in a BOI ATM before travelling.

You can use a Visa debit card international once the ATM has the Visa logo on it, you can only use a ATM card in Ireland.

When travelling we would recommend to all our customers that they leave a travel note on their account to avoid any blocks or flags being placed on the card by our security team as they would monitor your account 24/7 and may think its fraud on the account.

Please log into your 365 online profile,go to the online service desk and select add travel notification.

I hope this information helps, please let me know if there is anything else we can help you with.

    Enjoy your holiday :)

    Thanks,

    Kareana
