Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    In no particular order:

    - Steak and Guinness Pie
    - Buffalo Chicken Wings and blue cheese dip
    - Very little beats a cheesebuger and chips when done properly

    Thai green curry

And no peas in it, please. The best meal I ever had was in Thailand, green curry for a euro. I asked for it mild as was nice white boy spicy.

Don't have one really but there is nothing quite like a full Irish/English (what's the difference?) when the mood strikes. A beef casserole also hits the spot.

Breakfast: 2 slices of soda bread nicely toasted, with real butter let to soak in. Topped with a poached egg and 2 crispy pieces of streaky bacon.

Dinner: Medium rare fillet steak with homemade chips (plenty of crunchy bits), served with some garlic butter sauce and ketchup.

Lasagna always tastes best in the second day. So I am going to go with yesterdays lasagna with garlic bread to mop up the sauce.
I have a poached egg obsession going on right now.

Lamb bhuna... has to be spicy and so easy to make, its a staple of a sat night in with beers.

I used to eat a lot of salmon but I don't touch it now. The farmed salmon is very different to what I grew up with. It tastes all wrong.

    Favourite dish: Beef Stew.

I wouldn't turn away a rare steak! But when I'm cooking that meal I'll always go medium rare, just like that extra bit of searing with the homemade chips.

I'm presuming (hoping) the ketchup is for the chips!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,345 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

I'll roast some vine tomatoes if you want but for me, a little bit of ketchup brings it all together.

(It might result in lifetime excel from the foodie club but so be it. I think it was Ramsey or Marco Pierre White that I saw letting slip that they're found of it too. It works for me anyway.)
