DPD Lost My Parcel. Advice Please

    Hi.

I am hoping that some of you may have had experienced this issue and know of the best way to sort it out.

Basically I ordered a couple of mobile phones from eglobalcentral.eu by credit card.

Received e.mail saying it had been dispatched and got the tracking no.

Was tracking it through the no. on DPD UK tracking . They were sent from Manchester to the DPD hub in Athlone where they sat and sat. I rang DPD Ireland last Thursday for an update and they say they that they are lost. Phones definitely arrived in Athlone and they have the scans and picture of the parcel but where they are now is anyone's guess. Sorry about that but you need to talk to eglobal.eu.

I e.mailed e.global.eu on Thursday and got an e.mail Friday afternoon saying they are looking in to it with DPD. Nothing since from either companies even after numerous e.mails. The silence from both is deafening.

Has anyone experienced similar ? What is the best course of action. I was thinking of just doing a chargeback of the credit card and ordering again off of someone else.

    Any advice would be gratefully

Your contract is with eGlobal and it’s up to them to chase DPD. If you’re not getting any satisfaction contact your bank and explain the situation and see if a chargeback is possible.

Hi there. What happened in the end. I'm in a similar position with eglobal and DPD Athlone at the moment. Did you get sorted and if so how long did it take?

I'm in a similar situation only I was returning the items they lost.

Having tried all the usual channels and getting nowhere I lodged a
claim with the small claims court last October.

We're still working through that "process"

    Hi.

    In the end
nothing happened. Eglobal simply refused to answer e.mails. DPD stuck with the " our contract is with Eglobal " line and would not engage at all.

I paid by credit card and claimed a charge back. Process went through and i got a refund. Eglobal tried to defend there position by suppying the credit card co. with " proof " they sent it via DPD but when i asked for proof of delivery they backed down because obviously i didnt receive it.

Looking on line there seems to be a number of people with the exact same issue. Xiaomi a1 ordered through Eglobal and lost by DPD in Athlone.

I ordered the same phone from a different supplier the second time. To my horror i got a DPD tracking no. from them and again watched the tracking going through the UK and on to Athlone. This time however it was delivered straight to me with no issue thankfully.

I will never buy from Eglobal again. I had bought from them previously with no problems but there customer service is non existent when something goes wrong.

I hope you get sorted out.

I'll go the charge back route too. Who did you buy it from in the end?

It’s not a "line" from DPD. Their contract is with the shipper, so beyond telling you they are looking for it, there’s not much they can tell you. They can’t talk to you about compensation, insurance, replacement or anything else. Once it is gone missing the shipper is the one that needs to keep you updated, and should sort out the next step directly with the courier.

Their refusal to take responsibility for what is happening within their depot may be correct legally but is morally wrong. There is obviously something untoward going on.

My problem is that egobals terms ask you to produce evidence from the shipping company that the item was lost and that it must be produced within 10 days of dispatch from warehouse. DPD take 9 working days to complete an investigation and confirm the loss. So by the time they confirm I've fallen out of the conditions set by eglobal.

Again, DPD deal with the shipper. They are appalling terms that Eglobal have set, and seem designed to frustrate. I can’t see any courier or forwarder declaring it missing within 10 days of arrival in their warehouse, never mind 10 days from dispatch

Would you be protected if you also paid by Paypal?

You are protected via your debit card or credit card provider via chargeback even if paid via Paypal if the package does not arrive
