Hi folks. Looking at buying a new laptop. Used mainly for web browsing, AutoCAD and MapINFO.
It is not for work as such so just a few hours in the evening.
Would be grateful for any suggestions....thanks!

What's your budget, and what are your working on? 2d drawings in cad? Do you deal with large files in either, like detailed contours, DEMs/DTMs or large databases or filesets in Mapinfo? Does it need to be very portable? Would a desktop be an option? Also do you have or plan to get a monitor?

    Budget prob 500 max.
Will run 3D but mostly use it for 2D drawings. No DTM or DEM.
    Will also run a monitor

    I'd get this.
    550 euro but big reduction.

    full hd (1080p) screen
new i5 4-core processor (older mobile i5's are 2 core). big perf increase.

think that the deal ends soon.

You are not going to get any better than that within your budget. You could always try calling them or the on line chat to see if you can get a further discount. I think dell have black Friday deals, but I would guess it will be on the older generation dual core stuff of they do
