iPad Air 2 locked

    Got an iPad air which my niece locked and there is alot of photos on it, I am presuming that it can't be retrieved because of security as the iPad is locked giving me the message "iPad is Disabled connect to iTunes".

    If its not possible to retrieve the data I'm wondering how do I basically restore it back to the default factory setting where the iPad is like new. The photos may or may not be stored on the iCloud I don't know as the child is only around 10 and I don't know what they have done with it.

    Any help would be great thanks.

    Are you the original owner?
    You can restore it using your iTunes password.

    Luckily they knew their apple id and password and I was able to restore it to a backup from November 10th.
