Johnstown Castle

I was in Wexford this week visiting a cousin of mine we went out to Johnstown castle the castle and grounds were lovely I couldn't understand why the castle is not been used for anything just standing there. We went into the agricultural museum very interesting the food in the restaurant was excellent served by very plesent people.

Baffles me as well. I think the green scum on top of the lake could be cleaned off too.

It'll be getting renovated soon and open to the public next year I heard.

When the state took over the house it was converted into a research centre, the great staircase was removed and rooms upstairs were converted into science labs. It's not a nice place to see and the function rooms on ground floor are very small so gets full quickly if they are opened.

They are plans to fix up the house alongside new carpark, visitors centre and other things like outdoor performance space.
