Last year, I moved into a rental house and the electric was put in my name. I remember paying a deposit. I used direct debit to pay. Now that I'm about to leave that house, I'm wondering if I ever received my deposit back.

The new house I am moving in to, I have just had to pay another deposit. Can you please clarify whether my first deposit has or will be returned to me?

I also want to mention that since I am leaving a houseshare, that I don't want the deposit credited to my Electric Ireland account, as that would confuse the order to splitting bills. I'd prefer if it was credited bank to my original bank account from which it was paid from.

    Hi kaji,

Thank you for getting in touch.

If you private message us the relevant Electric Ireland account number, state that you are the account-holder and confirm your name, address and date of birth, we can assist you then as soon as possible.

    Thanks,
    Una
