Realistically you need a 4th gen or newer fighter, the "weaponised" trainers don't have the speed/range to get to respond to anything Russian for example.

Would the likes of second hand mirages be any good or would they cost a fortune to keep in the air. Maybe the best air defence is what I read on Irish military online. Someone said freeze some Russian bank accounts in the IFSC and they would not be long turning on the beacons

Your first mistake was actually digesting anything that's produced on that site.

You couldn't produce a bigger group of bitter, deluded armchair generals if you tried.

It's good for a laugh all the same.

Same lads over there might say the same about some posts on Boards :pac: sounds like we'd all get on great together :)

    Maybe.

I've read some drivel on boards.ie but IMO is on another level. At least on boards the Moderators generally refrain from posting rubbish, it seems to be common place on there by some. :)

IMO appears to be predominantly made up of part time reservists and some PDF/ex PDF that have a serious chip on their shoulder, generally against officers it seems. Neither of which can be relied upon to give a fair objective appraisal of any aspect of the DF.
