VPNs That Do Not Unblock Netflix
[*]Ironsocket: as a smart DNS service, this fell afoul of Netflix blocking efforts some time last year.
[*]UnblockUS: likewise, this was a relatively early victim of the company’s methods to block users attempting to mask their true geography.
[*]Blockess: Reddit users report that this has stopped working for Netflix.
[*]Overplay: According an article from The VPN Guru this month, this still won’t play nice with the video streaming giant .
[*]PureVPN: A Quora user is giving this one a nay.
[*]Unotelly: Angry users have taken to the interwebs to confirm that this will not grant access .
[*]Cactus VPN: This company took the unusual step of actually announcing to users that it had “lost the battle” to unblock Netflix. Kudos for the transparency, but no joy here!
[*]VPNSecure: We have no change to report on previous assessments. Although strides have been made to assure access, it has been a valiant but failing battle .
[*]StrongDNS: According to an update late last year , this only supports Netflix streaming from Windows of Mac browsers. A partial option, certainly, but why settle for less?
[*]Private Internet Access: recent thread on the dedicated Netflix Via VPN subreddit (yes, that’s really a thing!) confirmed that the service isn’t working, although the company had previous announced its intention to release thousands of IP addresses in rotation.
[*]AceVPN: The reports remain that its servers do not unblock Netflix.
[*]IPVanish: According to Reddit threads, this one fell fairly early in the day and lacks some of the heavy-weight tech needed to push past the company’s restrictions.
[*]BufferedVPN: As of recent tests and reviews (November 2017), Buffered doesn’t not support Netflix.

Time is running out, you would want to make up your mind soon.

Note: - Windscribe has a special server for Netflix called WindFlix on there browser extension. Don't use Netflix my self.

Can any of these VPN services be used on the upc/Virgin media Technomate router? Would like to be able to use it on my Samsung smart tv and ps4 for Netflix and NHL.com to get around blackout restrictions.

Any issues using Windscribe with BBC iPlayer?

• Registered Users Posts: 258 ✭✭NoeldeBournaix

Was able to access it anyway, at the second time of asking.

Only signed up today myself, so not sure of the reliability.

Hmm. Have tried twice on Chrome and once on IE but am being blocked - as it knows I am not in the UK or on a VPN. Any tips?

• Registered Users Posts: 258 ✭✭NoeldeBournaix

I have firefox, but it took me several attempts to get in this time. There are three main UK servers and the WINDFLIX UK server.

I eventually got in via the windflix UK server and was asked to register, which I did and was able to view the content. Got a postcode online.

It seems hit and miss unfortunately. There may be better VPN's for the iplayer out there.

Yeah, when I dug a bit deeper, it seems that iPlayer is not a runner. I don't have Firefox so might give that a go tomorrow. In the meantime have asked them to cancel and refund....

Getflix smart DNS works perfectly for me. A lifetime sub for ~ €30 pops up every now and again.

What's the best VPN to use for torrenting that won't slow me down ;)

Getflix only works for me now on my Desktop for Netflix. Won't work on my Apple TV (loads the US Netflix but won't play any titles) and doesn't have any effect on the Fire Stick. Used to work though. Lifetime sub pretty useless to me now.:(

Sorry only check this thread occasionally, unlimited bandwidth and devices.

Can I ask why people are generally using VPN's? With torrents, only the seeders can get done right and that's why I figured people would be using them. Handy for stuff like the BBC iPlayer and other players that might be geo-restricted but is it worth spending decent money just for access to those players when you can probably just download the shows you're after for free?
