I've been very negative about this fight card so it was a relief to see a decent fight added at last. Fingers crossed for Iaquinta vs Lee and all of a sudden its a solid event.

Gustafsson looking to get on the card now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,795 ✭✭✭dulux99

Cant see the ufc putting him on it especially after confirming the main card the other night.

I've an awful feeling they're not even putting on 12 fights. It's less than 6 weeks to fight night and only 10 bouts announced.

Maybe they are saving time for a Rocky IV Creed v Drago pre fight show. Can't see him on the card either, he just looking for more exposure on his stop start career lately.

Well lads, I have flights & accommodation booked for Vegas. Tickets not locked in yet but hoping to get them sorted before arriving. However if I cannot get the tickets - what's the best way to watch the fight in Vegas, I'm hearing a lot of places charge crazy cover charges to get in?

I remember looking at this before you are probably looking at 25 dollars to get in a door at the cheap end which lots of options like 100 dollars and free drinks for a few hours(prob slow at bar).

Google "viewing parties 229 las vegas"

Lads, can anyone tell me what's the craic with getting into the (ceremonial) weigh ins?

Is it just a case of queuing up a few hours beforehand? Anyone have any tips of how to improve chances?

    Cheers

    You just stroll in.

Yeah this is pretty much it. Unless you're planning on going to the fight club event (usually a q+a) then there isn't a que. Come one come all. The weigh ins realistically won't be full to capacity, just keep an eye out for updates closer to the day for what time the doors open.

Dont believe this is confirmed yet. Closer to time should have clarity

    Thanks guys.

I didn't realise there was a Fight Club event: I'll keep an eye out for that.

I guess info just goes up on the UFC's FB page etc?

Cheers for the insights, lads :)

Keep an eye on this thread because as soon as info becomes available one of us will probably share it! Unless it's someone really good then personally I wouldn't bother with any of the Q&A's but that's just me.

    Brilliant, thanks all.

TBH, unless it's someone on the prelims, I'd probably go :D I don't think I'll be in a position to go over to another fight in Vegas anytime soon so would be keen to make the absolute most of it!

Lagasse Sportsbook in The Venetian has a pretty wicked setup. If you want you can rent a private suite area (pool tables, host etc) for $4,000 and it sits about 20+. They also have private seating areas out on the floor which run upwards of $900. Alternatively, you can just stand around and hope to see it on one of the million TV's they have

I think if this is an option you will be at the fight.

Not necessarily true... I didn't get tickets but booked a private area

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,663 ✭✭✭JoeyJJ

You must have a gang going and no tickets?

I've resigned myself to this now. Fcking joke really.

Makes no sense to me.. 20 people 4k..$400 a man. If your willing to shell out that surely you would just put another $400 on top and buy off viagogo.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 11,139 Mod ✭✭✭✭Mr. Manager

I'm not willing to pay way over the price for tickets to sit in the nosebleeds. Would much rather take the money and spend it at a viewing party. For the record, not taking one of the rooms but did book a private area for 6 of us for $900. $150 each seems a no brainer.

I'd never pay a reseller for a ticket anyways. Only encourages it. Tried to get a ticket on the day but the payment was declined and when I refreshed they were gone. Oh well

Anywhere else that's good to go watch the fight in Las Vegas as tickets are gone, would the Irish bars or sports bars in Las Vegas be better?

Irish bars in nyny and mandalay bay worth a look mgm should have a viewing party too. Google your friend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,795 ✭✭✭dulux99

Yeah RiRa in the mandalay bay is the best of the Irish bars that I know of, 9 fine Irishmen (cringe) is a decent bar but a bit small and don't know do they have many TVs in there

RiRa will be ticketed so you'd wanna get sorted early

I’d look at what Blondies sport bar are doing. I’ll be there for Thursday night football and Monday night football pre and post fight. The video of Conor destroying Alvarez gets the excitement going. 5 weeks and a few hours to ceremonial weigh in.
