Cant imagine there will be much difference in the songs? Calling it a remaster but wont be remixed or changed I dont think.

I mustve pre-ordered it (?) cuz it was waiting for me when I got home.

Interested to get the reactions on here when you hear the remaster of "Staring". At least to my ears/stereo it sounds noticeably different.

I've given it a good few listens on vinyl now.

Album didn't need to be so long. It's Bono's album, as seen from the liner notes. From the lyrics to the production, only Adam is really heard a lot. Very little really of Edge. Could have been cut to ten songs, which would still have made a 7/10 album. An improvement on stuff for a long time all the same really.

    Best Tracks:

    i) The Showman

    ii) Red Flag Day

iii) You’re the Best Thing About Me

iv) The Little Things that Give you Away

    v) Love is All We Have Left

vi) You’re the Best Thing About Me

vii) Get Out of Your Own Way

    viii) Lights of Home

    ix) American Soul

    x) Summer of Love

    xi) Blackout

    xii) There is a light

    xiii) Landlady

xiv) Love is bigger than anything in its way

The fist two are really good U2 tracks that show they're still making good stuff. 'Red Flag Day' sounds like something that could be on 'War', really good song. they need more of this than 9 producers per song, smacks of 'we've half an idea and we have **** all notion of where to go...got any fairy dust Jack-Knife Lee?' ...'No, but I'll take the pay-cheque.And maybe if we just produce the **** out of it people won't notice.' So little of Larry's drums or Edge's guitar in the mix. Or even a nice leading synth line, everything is just left a a constant level.

Love is Bigger Than anything In Its Way – this is just starting to get to be join the dots U2 in-a-stadium. I say that as a fan. Bono saying music has got girly? What the **** is this then Bono? This is the kinda muzak on the elevator to purgatory.

Light of Home (St. Peters String Version) - is muh better than the album version and would sound good live.

    Setlist they rehearsed.
Love is All We Have Left
    The Blackout
    Lights of Home
    Beautiful Day
    I Will Follow
    The Ocean
    Cedarwood Road
    Song for Someone
Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
    Acrobat
Until the End of the World
Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
    Elevation
    Desire
    Vertigo
    The Showman (Little More Better)
You’re The Best Thing About Me
    Staring at the Sun

    American Soul
    City of Blinding Lights
    One

Hmm ,if they play that I'd be extremely disappointed.
Far too much new stuff ,which was the weakest part of the gigs in 2015.
Some nice rare songs and a great 7 song run in the middle but overall its a very weak setlist.

Tbf, it's the 5th day rehearsal set. Loads more to come.

I remember the set that was leaked for 360 and it was **** all like the one we got.
Same with I+E. The set changed quite a bit as the tour went on

And they kinda have to play a lot of new stuff. I'm just disappointed one of the best tracks from the album is not there

CR and SFS were 2 of the weakest tracks on SOI, I’ll be miffed if they survive

    SFS is a quality track

It’s one of the dullest songs they’ve ever written. 13 as a reprise to it works a whole lot better.

Agreed. And im in sync with the person that suggested it was a weak point on the tour. One of the only missteps for me.

    Raised By Wolves
has been the focus of rehearsals lately

Was a stand out track the last time

What, rehearsing songs for live shows?

Should they be rehearsing songs they haven't written yet?

  • Registered Users Posts: 115 ✭✭Teacher0101

They aren't going to do a gig without 'Streets' + they said that with no support it'll mean longer sets.

****in hell, can they just dump 'Elevation', moles ****ing around in holes. And 'Vertigo'. And 'City of Blinding Lights'.

I'm sure they'll rehearse a lot more stuff. 'Rattle and Hum' anniversary so would expect a few from that. 'Heartland' would be great or something unusual, 'God Part II' etc

That’s basically a set list sponsored by Carlsberg :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 115 ✭✭Teacher0101

Good set, 'Gone',. 'An Cat Dubh' would be great. They won't do 'Lady with...' as the riffs are basically the fly/even better.

'Red Flag Day' and 'The Showman' are great tracks from the new album.

I'd love to hear 'Seconds' as well or 'Surrender' from 'War'. 'Zoo Station' possibly.

I'd be happy with that set (though I don't like 'Yahweh'. 'Magnificent', 'Electrical Storm'

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,991 ✭✭✭✭Seve OB

    You don't like Yahweh.........

listen, you need to take these shoes and click clack down some dead end street

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,465 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

Yeah, some rarities there. No chance they would play 3 songs from the new album. The Blackout is nailed on to be there surely. American soul probably as well, complete with loud hailer.

Do you feel loved was barely even played on Popmart, would be good to get something fresh. Lots of potential for Rattle & Hum tracks to get resurrected now. Love Rescue me to end the night.

no chance they would play 3 songs from new album? They were playing around 6 per show at SoI tour.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,991 ✭✭✭✭Seve OB

No chance they would only play 3 songs from the new album.

    missing this i think?

I reckon we are guaranteed at the very least 7 tunes from the new album

Playing Raised by Wolves with the carbomb effect. Try to keep up.
