Set was mixed around a bit last night in places in San Jose

    https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/u2/2018/sap-center-san-jose-ca-73edbe85.html
Gloria got an airing last night, but no sign of Horses

It's a great song but, the temple bar mix should be the one played or, whatever way they were playing it in From The Sky Down. That sounded class

    Nice!

Also nice to see people voting with their feet against ticket prices

That’s a whole lotta empty seats!

The ticket prices really are remarkable. They need to take note.

Yay for Red Flag Day. Hopefully Summer of Love and The Showman aren't too far behind.

    Hmmm.
interesting to see all the empty seats seem to be behind a curtain. and the ones which aren't are ALL empty.
tells me a different story.... those seats never went on sale at all.

hard to tell because the photo is very restrictive

I am as much a hardcore fan of U2 as anyone and I was sceptical about buying seats behind the stage, when I was looking for New York tickets.

They're not even the expensive tickets. 46 dollars

They didn't sell. Fan sites in the US have been following poorly selling venues over there, shedloads of tickets left.

i find it hard to believe that one whole section didn't sell a single seat
i am aware that lots of tickets did go unsold

Obviously that wasn't the case, but they can re-locate you quite easily to a better seat for free, allowing them to corden off a whole area to avoid that "barren empty spaces" look.

"He sounded surprised when I told him that U2 has a new album out".

    Well yeah...

I would have thought every artists' appeal was selective...Unless you're a gig goer

Seems to be a fairly negative opinion of the set/show on U2start.com at the minute. I can honestly say I'd be happy with any of the shows so far. Well, not the 2nd, cos it was shorter I suppose. But all in all, concept seems good, decent tunes, I'm a big fan of the last 2 albums so my hopes haven't been dashed.

I think I read that Bono actually sang
Love Is All We Have Left
    last night?

    Interesting article there.

I randomly had a look at availability for one of the MSG shows in New York.
So many tickets available but the prices are just ridiculous.
120 dollars to sit behind the stage.

I watched i&e in Paris the other night, and only 1 instance of genuine attention to the crowd behind the stage is all I can remember!

It's getting good reviews but, from a fan's perspective, you're never going to happy with the set.

There are complaints from fans that Streets is missing, Horses is missing, One being in there etc. There are always going to be complaints

I suspect Streets might return at some stage.

I'd love some more stuff from Pop.
I loved that gig at Lansdowne Road.

Jesus, had a look at that forum.

"They should play Streets for me!"

I'd take complaints like that with a pinch of salt..

    "Worst tour yet"

    "This is so bad"

Those were my favourites. Most of these people would have seen Streets at least 3 times last year only!

Also, just read about the meaning behind the opening of the show...

    Very artistic

    Can you share that please?

    Can you share that please?

It opens with a song called, "Winter Beats"

Which has lyrics about your heart beating in winter and it stopping and
    freezing.

Then, there is the sound of an MRI machine beeping, with a woman's voice
saying, "Breathe in, breathe in, exhale, are you dead?"

Then, the screen slips and Bono is there singing LIAWHL, as the AR is
    supposed to be him topless

Then, The Blackout effects is like an X Ray

Basically, it's about his brush with death

^ Oh, very good! I like that now.

    It's pretty dark

The 4 song opening makes perfect sense now. They have clearly put a lot of thought into this show

It already seems a great show to me. It'll be nicely fine tuned by the time it hits Ireland.

Thanks for sharing it. And I agree with johnpatrick below, this seems like a fantastic show throughout.

They have had to slash ticket prices for alot of the venues to move them.
Its all part of this new abhorrent greedy ticket policy Live Nation/Ticketmaster use.
Try and sell tickets initially for through the roof prices ,then reduce the price as the concert nears.

Tickets that were 325 and 171 dollars before fees for LA are now a paltry 81 and 46 dollars.

The people who buy first ,the big fans and members of U2.com get screwed over.
Its a key policy now of Livenation to sell the worst most expensive seats first to people in presales ,as they will panic buy.
They really are an unethical company whose every move is to deceive and manipulate the public.

    ITS A CASH IN!!!!!!

    /joke :pac:

The haters will always find something to snark about. This is a superbly artistic reflection on that worrying time in Bono's life.
