Luke Morris is gone shockingly bad the last year or so...a definite black mark when backing one.

I fancy MUSICAL SLAVE in the big race at 1.50 Cheltenham on saturday,the problem is he is only first reserve but as JPs only entry i will be surprised if the owner can't get one of his many trainers to take one out.

With just 10-6 on his back the 7 year old must have a very good chance,his last run was an ok 5th behind Clondaw Castle at Newbury 15 days ago beaten by 3 and a half lengths (Clondaw Castle runs tomorrow at Cheltenham),a good run from Clondaw would highlight the chance of MUSICAL SLAVE but no matter how he runs it will not put me off backing MUSICAL SLAVE.

That run was really good as the horse made a very bad mistake at the first but JP had a well backed fav in the race and MUSICAL was just hunted round after that in what was probably as a prep race for saturday.

Assuming he does get in 12/1 and 5 places makes MUSICAL SLAVE a very good ew bet.

STRAIGHTOUTTACOMPTON 6.15 Southwell is my idea of the days best bet,the horse seems to like Southwell won very easily last time he ran there,five lbs higher now should not be a problem against a poor enough bunch and he is a fairly confident ew bet.

Musical did not get in so i am now backing CEPAGE who is at the other end of the handicap,CEPAGE has been placed in this race twice,runs well fresh and is presumably primed for this again this year.

Likes the course,is only 8 years of age and should now be reaching his prime,has a little more weight than i would like but has run very well off this mark in the past.

Its hard to see him out of the places and carries my ew money at around 9 or 10/1 ew.
