    What's the craic, boys? Bout ~5 years ago, Jan 2013 to be specific, I built my current pc. Went with a 7950 GPU and i5 3570K. It's served me well enough. Last year I replaced the 7950 with a 1060 because the 7950 was a bit of a mess and I just needed a nice cheap GPU to do enough. Now, I've got the bug back and I'm thinking of rebuilding my PC. I'll keep my 1060 and my CPU cooler. Have hard drives and all the rest, Mostly interested in a CPU and MoBo upgrade. The 3570k has served me well, but I'm noticing it's hitting it's limit quite a lot now and I'm getting the itch to rebuild. I'm kinda leaning towards an intel CPU, i5-8600k or i7-8700k (probably not worth it, the latter) but I was looking for some insight from you guys. I'm also interested in what the best cases around these days are. I'd like something discreet I guess. Always wanted to go for a smaller case, but my current is a mid tower ATX


    No idea if I need the below, but sure look I'll add it anyway.

    1. What is your budget?

    €700-€1000.

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [Gaming/Video editing/3D Modelling/HTPC/Internet] (If gaming include which games)

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows?

    Nope

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [Hard drive/DVD Drive/Case/PSU/etc.] (If possible state brand and model of the parts to ensure compatibility)

    HDD's, PSU, GPU, Cooler.

    5. Do you need a monitor? [Yes/No]

    Nope

    5a. If yes, what size do you need. [19'/20'/22'/24'/etc.]

    5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? [1920x1080/1440x900/etc.] [Yes/No]

    1080, probably 4k next year sometime. (I will be upgrading my GPU then, but that time will come...)

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [Keyboard/Mouse/Wireless Card/Card Reader/Speakers/etc.]

    Nope

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [Yes/No]

    Yep

    8. How can you pay? [Bank Transfer/Credit Card/Laser]

    Whatever is needed

    9. When are you purchasing? [In x days]

    Over the next 3 months I would say. Would like to have it built January 2018

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? [South Dublin City/Cork City/Kerry/etc.]

    No need

    One last thing, what are the cheapest spots to pick up components these days. I used Hardwareversand back when I built this thing.
