Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was out last night and say a house with a string of blue lights on the windowsill of there conservatory.
Then I saw a house with a string of clear lights on there gutters.
Then I saw an apartment with blue lights in the window.
    We're also into the 310's!

What a crazy few weeks that was. I had the worst chest infection going. I have bad asthma anyway but this was terrible. Anyway must take the tree down some of these days. Its a small 2ft one sitting on a chair with a few lights and decorations but it still needs to be moved from the sitting room.

Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness
West Cork (more a serial than an ongoing podcast)
Giving me Life (full disclosure those are 3 of my mates and it's all VERY queer :pac:) (Also it's available on Apple podcasts but i can't find an easy direct link)

    Not specifically Christmas related? :P
99PI - short episodes on interesting design facts https://99percentinvisible.org/ My favourite podcast.
Teachers Pet - Australian investigation into the disappearance of Lyn Dawson. Topical podcast. It was only run last summer. https://www.theaustralian.com.au/the-teachers-pet
Criminal - Short 20 minute episodes about random crimes https://99percentinvisible.org/
You must remember this - nice podcast about the golden age of Hollywood http://www.youmustrememberthispodcast.com/
Serial - think this has had 3 seasons (I've listened to one) one about the case of Adnan Syed https://serialpodcast.org/season-one
S-Town - By the same folks who do Serial this was about John McLemore. Also great story. https://stownpodcast.org/
No Such Thing As A Fish - the QI elves do a random facts podcast. Funny and quite interesting (see what I did there?:D) https://audioboom.com/channel/nosuchthingasafish

Surreal talk is a decent one if you like your conspiracies. Episodes are short too.

Also Business Wars is brilliant. All about rival companies like Nike v Adidas, Coke v PEpsi, McDonald’s v Burger King, etc

Really interesting to hear what does in behind these rivalries.

I'm only getting on the podcast train but here are some I've found - all on Spotify:

    - Scummy Mummies: Comedy duo who interview different people (mostly celebs) about all things parenting including their fails. It's very funny but they also have very good topics. The most recent one was with Elle Wright (Feathering_the_empty_nest on Instagram) - it was brilliant.

    - David Tennant Does a Podcast - this deadly. He's done one with Olivia Coleman, Jodie Whittaker & Whoopi Goldberg so far

    - Happy Mum, Happy Baby - Giovanna Fletcher (she's married to one of the McFly people), it's all about parenting in the early years.

Mines all the Christmas forum. I only post on the motor one when something goes wrong or on the aviation one for similar reasons.

For the first time in our relationship, 5+ years, I am having flowers delivered to my OH and the new elf. Annoyingly my OH had a hay fever issue last night after sniffing the flowers on our lime tree. So they may go straight in the bin

Never even heard of this book so I don’t know if this is something to look forward to or not. But hey Christmas news is Christmas news.

I remember reading that as a kid! Was at my goddaughters school book fair recently and they had it, brought back memories

One of my daughter's favourite books from a couple of years back, just told her it's to be made into a film and she's already looking forward to it.

Yes I noticed a noticeable drop off in posts lately. I was admiring the sunny day we had yesterday and even I must admit the warm glow of Christmas felt like a distant memory and a long way away.

I imagine as the days get brighter people drop off more as they’re thinking about Christmas less and less.

I am only a recent poster in here (new year's resolution) however have been a long time lurker! I use to pop in whenever I was feeling a bit down because it was always such a happy place and would cheer me up, no matter what time of the year it was.

This year rather than just pop in for a bit of a 'pick me up' will try to post a bit more.

This is one of the forums where I check the posts every day, need a bit of Christmas magic to get through the days

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,827 ✭✭✭Jude13

Ditto. It has been getting brighter in the mornings alright. It will soon be getting too hot, this is the time where I day dream about a frosty morning or evening. I remember feeling a great sense of appreciation, even as a teen, when I would walk to training and see the fields and pitches all crisp an frosty. It's not like it's rare in an Irish winter which makes it strange that I knew it was so special.

That was me about 2 or 3 years ago. Now I check this forum pretty much every day.

Don't think we'll be having another Beast this year, it's been so mild and bright lately!
