Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think it’s a good idea. A lot of the streets are just too narrow to handle the crowds. The big excitement for me is coming around the corner and see the Christmas lights for the first time.

I can understand this decision, I know last year there was some crowd control issues and a lot of people couldn’t see and it became a health and safety issue.

The magic is in the glow of the lights anyway.

Completely get the disappointment why not pick a weekend day to pop in see the lights, get a hot chocolate and take it all in with a lot less people around.

I may have stopped and driven back to double check, they were Christmas lights ;)

There are Christmas lights on my road too! Right next to a house decorated for Halloween.

Had a look around the M&S's & Brown Thomas's Christmas sections today & picked up the M&S food magazine. Oh the deserts look so scrumptious.

Yea we will. We promised my god-daughter we would go to see them being turned on and then go to the Disney store to get her a Christmas decoration so will need to still bring her up that way.

I need a Christmas glow immediately
Our new ensuite was giving us trouble earlier today the fitter came back this evening said he fixed it
Made the problem worse leak from ensuite now coming through to my front hall
Argh only got the house recently painted it’s going to be along night and I’ll have to hang around tomorrow to make sure he sorts it properly this time

Oh no, I has a slow leak that cost me a carpet and a chunk of wall last year, so I feel your pain. I hope it gets sorted properly this time.

Here's a picture I took of Grafton Street this evening, if that helps. :)

Feel your pain. Our cistern upstairs managed to crack in half last month whilst we were at work, so it never stopped filling. My OH came home to a waterfall down the stairs and the whole of downstairs flooded.

It's only just occurred to me that I won't see grafton street with its lovely lights this year. Or see other cars singing along to Christmas fm on the drive to limerick :(

Walking around the lake beside our house we noticed allot of outside lights up but they are for diwali which is coming up. I keep telling the OH that they are Christmas lights and the neighbors are making a mockery of us and I should get the candy cane lights out.

Morning elves! Hope the water damage isn't too bad and can be fixed easily.

This morning a woman on my bus had a wrapped Christmas present.

I was super excited to see Mince Pies in the shops recently. I demolished a 6 pack over the last couple of days.

Just worked out I have 36 days of work before we break up for christmas... and I'm taking a longer break this year too, carrying over holidays I didnt use so I'm only back on Monday Jan 7th!! So a nice break this year.

Havent been around much due to workload the last few days (Other than thanking the countdown posts) but its great to see so many new posters popping up in the forum here, a real sign that things are about to get real, so to speak!

Hey all. Sorry I haven't been around very much lately. Since Mini Egg arrived in the summer there's very little time for the Internet. Enjoying catching up on everything here.

I went to Brown Thomas last month and picked up a handful of beautiful tree decorations. The excitement can begin.

I'm really chuffed for our first Christmas as a family. :)

Hey elves its been a long day and I got little sleep last night tossing and turning about the leak it was near our fuse box so it kept playing on my mind,
Not a 100% problem is solved with the ensuite so they bathroom guy will be back once again to finish things off then il get my decorator back, my whole day was tied up with that today so it was Chinese for dinner and now I'm on the G&T
Hopefully after catching up on the posts here il be back to myself by bedtime

My gifts I ordered from Boots have arrived in store I need to pop up and collect them

    Anymore Christmas lights spotted Elves?

My cards (and one new tree decoration) arrived today, impulse buy from the RNLI catalogue when I got the quarterly newsletter last week. Not the most Christmasy decoration but had to have it - https://shop.rnli.org/collections/homeware/products/penguin-felt-decoration

This is the earliest I have ever bought something for Christmas and I now feel slightly dirty :pac:

Don't do family presents anymore, with the exception of a young niece and nephew where I'll basically be told what to buy, and my partner who still hasn't given me the specifics of what was to be bought *last* year so its mostly food and booze buying from now on in.
