Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Smart foul, Liverpool could do with doing it more often.

Salah is just a class act...

blegh, Salah does great stuff moving the whole way around the outside of the box into a great position to pull it back to the penalty spot, and no one has followed what he's doing, leaving 5 blue shirts in the box before you find a red one.

Come on. No other player spends more time on his arse than him.

He's the most fouled player in the league by a fair distance. Players can't get close to him so he's chopped down. He gets f*ck all protection here compared to any other league too.

Edit: I guess Henderson didn't chop him down there either :D

Couple of lovely touches from Morata so far.

Morata oozes class, great signing, good to see Drinkwater fit again.

Ox, Henderson, Milner are not goal scorers. It's just not natural for them to make and see those runs sadly.

Real Madrid were out of their minds to let him go. He is top class.

Not sure about Drinkwater being so advanced though.

Beautiful footballer alright. He looks like he should be gangly and awkward, but he moves like a dancer.

Very true, but where was Sturridge at least? If there's one thing he has its intelligent movement, but he just seemed to stand still and watch like the others.

I actually kind of 'get' this lineup to an extent - lots of grit and determination in there. Guys that will show up. Which is why I can't understand Firmino missing up front. Or even Solanke who certainly gets stuck in. But aside from the little break from our corner around the centre circle, you'd barely even know sturridge is playing.

in fairness Chelsea have a lot of players back at all times.

Klavan has been decisive thus far.

I'd have taken the point before kick off, certainly would now. Hard to see how Liverpool can score with this lot up front.

I'll have to watch it back but think he ran towards the goal (six yard box) and then everyone else stood outside the box. Was shocked to see him get the start.

At least with the bench we have, if we can keep it tight for the first half, could put in a strong last 30.

You can push people over now, cool, game on ...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

Gomez has had a few chances to put in good crosses and the have all stunk. Getting himself in the position but not taking advantage of it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

did Hazard use his big árse there??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

Milner/Drinkwater would be an interesting foot race.

Opened up a bit more and Pool came into the game

Meh Coutinho is not having a good game at all, he wants to be the No 8 but isn't using the ball well enough from that deeper position. Too many balls are going back and sideways, no dynamic linking with Sturridge or OxCham.

Two banks of four in the box. But they're a threat going forward. They're hard to break down and i don't mean that in a derogatory way.

Game is finely balanced, like a tight rope walker with no safety net .

A fully fit and firing Lallana would be perfect to bring on for him for the last 30 - but is that what we'd be getting? Been out a long time... might be a bit too much for his first appearance.

I'd move Coutinho to wide left bring on Firmino as the No10 and Mane up front with Salah.

    ---Couts----Mane
    Salah
    Firmino
    OxCham----Hendo

Maybe Lallana can get 10 mins wouldn't expect more.

Chelsea have only conceded 6 in league since end of Aug.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,679 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

I don't watch a whole pile of Hazard but constantly hear about how he's the most fouled player in the premier league. Based on what I've seen tonight, he's possibly one of the softest and seems to go down under every touch as if he'd been stabbed terminally by a red hot knife.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Hazard kicks Klavan to try to win a penalty. Fair enough.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Milner got away with that in my view.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

Same as first half. No one taking a chance and running in!
