Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It might never happen but at least there is an organisation behind it which has actual customers for a service (which is not using XRP) and a practical way for them to transition to another similar service which would use XRP, if Ripple manages to convince those customers it is a better solution.
Other large coins don't seem to even have something like that.

I would agree from reading about it. I think something special is yet to come.
Where is the best place to buy XRP?

If you want to buy directly with euros, you can look at Kraken or Bitstamp.

Keep in mind that Ripple (as other cryptocurrencies) has been in a fairly prolonged downwards slope for the last couple of weeks. But you can register in one of those website anyway to be ready to buy if/when you thing the time is right (it might have improved as the December craziness is gone, but back then getting setup could take some time).

Nice bit of movement in the past 24 hrs. Is there any particular reason behind it ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,041 ✭✭✭will56

Movement across the board, might just be the natural cycle of crypto.

Really hoping its not just a pump and dump because its unusual to see large upward movements sustained on a Friday.

Massive amount of sell orders on Bitstamp, its going to take a dedicated push to get another 20% movement

Yeah, for the first time since Jan I am back in the green. What's going in that's causing ripple to rise ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 160 ✭✭millhouse

Rumours of deals with Santander and Apple may be contributing . Was a worry that there would be a sell off to pay for the Cgt for the big boys over in the US.hopefully ripple bucks this trend

  • Registered Users Posts: 921 ✭✭✭benjamin d

Everything is on the up. I wouldn't read much into any specific crypto at this point, rising tide and all that.

Ripple bigger gains than most though. Long may it continue after 4 months of hell.

Sure it part of a wider upwards trend. But still it is clear Ripple is gaining much more than other large cryptos. Don’t know if there is any conclusion to drew but it is is worth noticing.

Whatever about Apple, Santander are definitely on board for the technology part (just need them to adopt the currency now :))

    Thanks,

    G.

I imagine its going to take the announcement of a currency user to see some decent longterm movement

    Agreed,

But I'm good with slow steady growth as a result of regular announcements of new and improving partnerships etc. in the meantime :)

    Thanks,

    G.

Yes if/when they announce an actual and large enough institutional user in a production environment, the outlook for XRP will suddenly change drastically.

With the current trend of ripple is a $1 a possibility over the coming days .

Definitely a possibility I'd say. But then again it could also fall again and wipe the gains of the past few days (not the most likely scenario IMO, but definitely possible).

I Wonder are we going to see big sell offs at say $1, $5, $10 etc or even at each Dollar figure ?
Or can we assume people are going to be optimistic and HODL for bigger gains.

Good question. I guess it depends on wether increases are purely fuelled by speculative sentiments or if there is long term confidence in XRP actually becoming a (big) thing for grobal payments.

I don’t know that, but I guess good things to consolidate and sustain the growth would be for a large financial instituation to actual start using it and/or large investors announcing they are massively buying XRP.

Santander have said a few times (including the link you posted) that they intend to launch instant payments this year. I might be wrong and it could change in the future but I think currently Ripple on offer this when you use their XRP based solution?

Just got an email saying Revolut are adding Ripple along with Bitcoin Cash. Surprised I hadn't heard this news earlier in the week.

They had announced they were adding XRP a while back but didn't give an indication of when.
Nice to see a definite date.

Has there been anything interesting in the ripple world over the past week. Does anyone envisage the figures from last year

    Kraken is the easiest option.

Yes that or Bitstamp (which besides Ripple has less other crypto currencies but has a very good reputation and is based/regulated in the EU).

Could someone give me the procedure for depositing euros to your account with Kraken. Do I just ring my bank and say I’d like X amount send to this IBAN along with this reference code? And then how long does it take to be processed?

If you have online banking, it's easy enough to set up a new SEPA transfer to the Kraken IBAN, including the Reference number as indicated. I haven't had to call them, but I'm sure it is the same information that you will be giving.

Usually takes 2-3 days for mine, but that prob depends on who you bank with (i.e. are they a clearing bank here, BOI & AIB).

How long will Kraken take to process my money transfer and deposit the money in my account

  • Registered Users Posts: 63 ✭✭BonesJones1

My money has left my own account but isnt appearing on kraken . Should i be worried?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,947 ✭✭✭✭banie01

It can take up to 48hrs for the transfer from an Irish account to appear in Kraken.
I used to use my Revolut to transfer as it always appeared on Kraken quicker but thats no longer an option.

  • Registered Users Posts: 255 ✭✭mcgucc22

As someone already posted above, depending on your bank it can take up to 2 or 3 days for the transfer to go through

I'm with ulster Bank and anytime I transferred on a Friday, it didn't show up on Kraken until after the weekend on the Monday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,905 ✭✭✭✭Bob24

Depends on how quickly your bank processes outgoing SEPA transfers and how quickly Kraken processes incoming transactions. My experience with Bitstamp is that the money appears in the afternoon for an early morning transfer or the next working day otherwise. But could be 2 or 3 days depending on Kraken and your bank, nothing to worry about.
