    Hi,

    Mains Controller Fault SPC4300

I had a couple of power outages today. The power has been restored but I can't set the alarm as the alert won't clear.

Any idea's how I can close the alert. I've tried a system restart.

PSU fault relates to the battery, may need to be replaced.

    Hi Altor,

Don't think it's the battery as the LED indicator on the panel suggests an issue with the mains power supply.

    Any other idea's?

    Thanks

Only had the same with one the other day, PSU fault and it was the back up battery.

Was it the same panel SPC4300?

    Yes it was an SPC

PSU mains fault is the mains gone surly? Maybe it's blown the fuse whilst switching on and off.

    SPC Pro Panel Status below.

    Power:

    Mains: Fault
    Battery: OK
    Battery Voltage: 12.1V
    Aux. Voltage: 11.9V
    Aux. Current: 70mA
    Aux Fuse: OK
    Ext. Bell Fuse: OK
    Int. Bell Fuse: OK

Mains is definitely back just not to the alarm panel.

It's telling you there's no power going to the panel. I'd say the fuse has blown. You need to sort this asap as it's running on the battery which is a bit low already.

It's either the fuse in the spur or inside the panel. Hopefully it's the spur as it's a common fuse, the panel one is the smaller type that's hard enough to get.

Thanks this makes sense, I'm not a spark by trade so best I leave this to someone qualified for the job. ESB working on a sub station has played havoc.

Would of thought PSU fault was the PSU aswell.
Was the battery in my case which I replaced and it cleared the fault.

Your alarm might go haywire when the battery runs down. Best thing to do is to open the panel and disconnect the battery. The outside bell will ring for 15 mins then shut down completely.

I actually can't remember what it says when the battery is low. I should know as I have tons of them installed..lol

Didn't get a chance to disconnect the battery before work so it went into Deep Discharge this afternoon and the outside bell went off.

The power surges caused the 500ma fuse to blow so when this was replaced this evening, mains power was restored.

    All looks OK now :)

I doubt its the battery. Those panels will flag a low battery or a battery not charging etc.
Disconnect the battery and see what happens. If the system powers down then the mains PSu is the problem.
Battery Voltage & Aux voltage is a bit low there. It also mayne the power supply is not dead but is struggling.
Something I'd recommend sorting before the weekend..

Mains power was restored last night by replacing 500ma fuse. Another series of power cuts today but thankfully the fuse didn't go this time round.

What are the optimal values for battery voltage & AUX voltage?

    Yours are perfect.

As fred said those readings are spot on. Glad you got it sorted. Those panels are generally very good for the information they give you.
