Probably a bit of a silly question, but are we specifically told that we have passed vetting? or do you just get a PCA date in the mail.

Not silly at all. The vetting runs along side PCA and medical. You could have PCA and medical long before vetting is cleared.
But you are also not told when you have passed. Unless you call and ask.

You will get a search for a credit file, so if you have access to your credit report that will give you an indication that things are moving.

It's the SC and CTC bit that takes time. My first one took 10 weeks to get back to me.

    Maybe another silly question,

But if you don’t pass vetting - do you find out by post or how does that work? My vetting is coming up on 10 weeks since posted and I haven’t heard anything back yet to say passed/not passed so was wondering.

Check your credit report if you have access to it. If there has been no search for your file then vetting hasn't gon e through yet.

Where do I find such report?

Bear in mind you could have all the PSNI vetting stuff done, you could be waiting on the national SC and CTC cell.

Experian is your best bet, if you have a Barclaycard you get free access to it.

    Or clearscore

If you are an RoI or other non-UK national your vetting will naturally take a wee bit longer as there will be more inter-agency communication needed.

does everyone feel confident that there will be passes for the AC around 4th May?

Fast tracking got me doubting it

Ive read on here someone saying you won’t know you’ve passed until you phone? Phone where?

    101.

    Ask for recruitment.

    Give candidate number.

    Ask the question.

I'd worry about PCA before ringing about vetting.

Why worry about vetting? You have done everything you can do. Not in your control so I wouldn't be chasing it as you may end up getting annoyed/disheartened for no reason.

I know, getting a bit ahead of myself! Just questioning something on my vetting if I pass AC, hence my reason for wondering. Might not even pass AC, here’s hoping for 4th May!

If you have't got a fast track email they probably haven't even started processing your vetting as there is a monetary value in every minute of admin

Very true! Checked my credit report thanks for the advice. There was a search back in Feb, could mean things moved forward.

I reckon each batch of fast tracked folk going by size indicated of the first batch, is a squad with a margin of error for PCA/Vetting/medical fails.

So the police know that they will roughly have two squads ready to go Aug/Sept aslong as there is no hitches and so I doubt the main body will have vetting started unless you scored just below the scores of the 2nd batch of fast tracked people.

    Thoughts?

Just seems to be much more concurrent activity and anticipation at all levels in this campaign

Could be true! I know of an officer from the mainland who left his role and moved here, and he has had his fast track email, vetting all cleared due to his previous post. No hitches.

Just following back to somones post about districts. Somone has said that lurgan was the response station in that district so that’s where you would be heading. Does anyone know what the response station is in the rest of the districts.?

    Ards for North Down

    Lisburn of Castlereagh

    Newtownabbey for Antrim and Newtownabbey.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,620 ✭✭✭Banterbus28

I think because Lisburn and Castlereagh are Urban they have response in both stations.

Obviously all the Belfast LPT stations all have response sections.

The other Belfast stations are host to specialist sections. CID, TSG home stations, serious organised crime, Cyber etc etc
