Just had a call from a private number to check I had received the online learning - heart stopped for a second!

Did you run out of time? That last exercise was awful, couldnt believe how quickly the minutes flew in.

Yeah end bit was a nightmare, I know how to type and use a computer but it totally threw me off...oh well im sure there is another career path I can choose other than Policing. :(

Most of us that were fast tracked struggled with the last bit aswell so dont be worrying about that. The other bits must have more points

Even if it is bad news you shouldn't think that way. I've been trying since 2014. This was my third attempt and finally got through to the PSNI stages. Even if people don't pass this time, dont give up. Keep your results email with how you scored in certain bits and work hard on them for next campaign.

I wonder why the called you, because we didn't have to confirm we received the online learning??

Yeah it was weird - I have made a start on the online learning and we have a few weeks yet to complete. I don't normally answer withheld numbers either but glad I did. Just in case anyone else gets a random missed call and panics.

Yea I'm same I hate withhelds. Unless of course it's a Nigerian Prince wanting to donate his millions to me lmao.

I've had one call from them as I forgot to confirm I'd be for the PCA familiarisation when I confirmed I'd be going to the PCA lol.

Have to say I haven’t even been thinking about the results until now! I’m pretty certain I messed up so suppose I’m not hoping for good results. So def prepared for the worst.. which is making me more eager to pass the next campaign! Wishing everyone the best of luck!

You will have one it might just not have anything on it due to age. One thing you could do quickly to help is get registered to vote.

Near had a kitten when I saw emails this morning. Though it was just to tell me I had not met the shortlisting for dispatcher.

Your lucky, I never heard a word back about despatcher role. That is shockingly poor levels of service in getting back to applicants. I last rang about in March to be told that they were still getting into things after the Christmas break....

Mate external Dispatcher is the lowest priority for PSNI Staff recruitment as they have internal courses running.

Call handler, CDO and ASOs all were of a higher priority.

Nothing to do with quality of service, they can only work on what they have been given.

However like you I haven't heard back so hopefully no news is good news

I think regardless of priority, if they or any organisation publicly recruit, then courtesy would be to even provide an update on progress or delays. Just my thoughts though. If I can smash this PCA tomorrow il be a step closer to needing to worry about despatcher role

Public sector is always this slow. Only exception I have experienced is HMRC. However going by the fact thst people will have finished the PSNI stages this week before AC results day turns out PSNI is even swifter than HMRC

I spoke too soon, just got my email to say I’ve been shortlisted for Despatcher.

Well that's the medical over with. Staff were great and I spent more time talking to them than actually doing stuff lmao.

Such a simple process. Was good to see a few familiar faces from the PCA.

Brilliant Nik9, you must be one of the first though the post this time. I’m sure you’ve a bit of a spring in your step now. And rightly so. PCA tomorrow for me and of course I’ve a chest infection but it’s 3 mins or so of pain for long term gain

Glad to hear it’s all good, mines is very very soon! How long roughly were you in for? To give me an idea of how long I’ll be away from work lol

No but you should be able to tell for yourself as you go through it.
Was told PSNI will have results of drugs test In about a week and then it just depends when they tell us if whole thing was a pass or fail.

Give yourself an hour, Maybe 1.5. Depends if you need to see the Dr or not.

Also make sure you are there early. As you have to stay at the gate until someone can escort you across the site.
