IPad- cant get IOS 11.... ipad too old?

    Hey guys

    I have an old ipad (no idea which one - maybe 3/4 years old). I can only get IOS 9.3.5 as the latest update.

    I need IOS 11 for a course im doing.

    Do i need to buy a new ipad?

    Depends which model it is. Ive and iPad Air which is 4 years old and is running the latest software.

    I think anything before the Air in 9.7" format doesnt support it.

    yeah, my iPad retina won't update to 11 (from 10). It's starting to age a bit now and be laggy doing a few things.
