Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

@ banterbus28 I’m on about 24/25k and have a civil service pension so that would
    Obviously carry over

It wasn’t what I expected! But only 25-30 minutes and better than an interview! Good luck :)

Thanks :) the idea of an interview makes me ill lol what was the general dress code? I'm planning black trousers and blouse, but don't wanna be as under dressed this time as I was over dressed for the last assessment lol

Also, anyone any idea what sort of training programme would follow successful appointments? I know I have a long way to go before even thinking about that, but it just occurred to me that I've read nothing about training

Anyone know how many ASO’s they’ll be looking to start? Don’t mind when, just curious.

It's a general service list so they'll take as they need.

    Your assessment was today yea?

Yeah, don’t ask how it went cuz I genuinely don’t know 😂 wasn’t what I was expecting, and it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be so that probably means I tanked it again 🙄 lol

I feel the same! Not sure how those sorts of things are even graded!

I kept looking at the panel and wondering what they were making of us, we were all in agreement straight away so I’m not sure how they measured the competencies. I think I’d rather someone disagreed with me so I could at least attempt to lead a decision lol. Aw well, will know how bad it went on Monday 🙈😂

It's good to play devil's advocate in that kind of assessment. Obv don't go mental and flaunt bad ideas lol

Yeah we had a lot of agreement too! Did your group use the full time? I’m secretly hoping they’ll work all night and get us the results tomorrow lol!

Yeah we just about finished when his timer went off.

That would be nice, but I’m not holding my breath for them 🙈

Well dones guys hope you's get a post with a shift pattern you're happy with.

Remember the NICS pay award has agreed so the paybis now more than advertised as there was a 1% uplift and the bottom pay point was removed.

    Starting pay for you guys is now;

    £20692

And if you get a post that includes shifts the potential uplift will be

    12.5% so £23279

    or

    15% so £23796

    Plus sat and sun premiums

Saying that you could get mon-fri then you'll get flexi 😎

  • Registered Users Posts: 17 Kellz133714

I’m hoping for Monday-Friday, but with those wages I don’t really care lol I’ll just have to be patient now, not really my strong suit 🙄🙈

Banterbus28, don’t suppose your friend has told you how many got into the merit pool? I emailed Grafton back but they haven’t responded.

  • Registered Users Posts: 31 Ohh369

So when PSNI get in touch about the security check etc, will we then get a merit number?!

I assume we’ll get a candidate number of some description, I’ve asked if we’ll be told merit rankings so I’ll let you know if I get a response.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17 Kellz133714

So they said the PSNI have instructed them not to tell us how many went through or where we ranked. He said we could ask again when they get in touch directly. Wonder why that is?? 🀔

Haha fair point. Well I’m just going to try and forget about things now til they contact me. I’ll drive myself crazy checking my emails otherwise 🙈

So if anyone gets contacted let me know please so I can keep an eye on the junk box :)

Not having a merit number might be a good thing! Might stop me overanalysing it all...

The process has moved quite quickly over the last few weeks, hope it doesn’t slow down now!

You's will be placed as posts arise. This list is likely to be active for a long time.

I was thinking the same, though the pressure is off me to get a job quickly now so I don’t mind if it takes a while. :)

Hi everyone, long time lurker on this and the 1710 campaign. Firstly congratulations on how far you have got 😠I work as a police civilian and if I can help you with any questions just ask and I will do my best to give honest answers, some of the answers on here are a bit misleading. Currently there is internal promotions for all grades and the interviews will probably not finish until September for the lower grades. The biggest intake will be taken after that once staff are promoted however on the last promotion it took nearly 9 months for staff movements. So hang in there and maybe I’ll get to work along side you some day 😀

That brilliant Cazzie thank you. Saves us all wondering what’s happening. What sort of training and how long is involved with ASO do you know?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 45 cazzie23

No worries, glad to be of some help. Unless you are offered a specialised post that requires training then none, it’s just learning your job role. I have worked in many different stations as you will want to experience different posts. Once you are the door we are offered all the jobs that are advertised externally first (recently CDO, Call dispatcher etc) so the opportunities are there.

Am I correct in saying that as you are under NICS T&Cs and you don't get Mon-Fri 9-5 you will get SDA?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 45 cazzie23

Police civilians are under the civil service code and each role/office will have their own work pattern but most jobs are mon-fri flexi working (8am-6pm)

  • Registered Users Posts: 17 Kellz133714

Excellent Cazzie thank you!!! Looking forward to it now, if I make it that far lol

You will, everyone who gets this far has done fantastic. You have probably done better than I will as I have my promotion test and possible interview to come but the way I look at it I have a great job and I’m happy either way ðŸ˜

Now that grafton have finished their part of the recruitment process, can I ask what happens with the psni part? Will all successful candidates have a security check or will that happen in merit order? Is the security check similar to that for a police officer? Thanks in advance :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 17 Kellz133714

Thank you, and good luck with your promotion!!! ðŸ˜

You will be completely vetted like police officer. It has been over 10years since I filled out my vetting form so not sure how they will contact you but I was sent one out in the post for the Constable recruitment process. Even when inside the Police Service you will be asked to fill out security questionnaires at random times
