They're going to kill this tournament by increasing the number of teams in the final to 48. There isn't enough talent in the world for it. It's taken 4 games for us to actually get a decent match with only 32 teams in the finals.

yup, unless they give the bulk of those spots to Europe, it's only going to hugely dilute the quality of the first round.

Also, it's a bit of a shame for lots of teams to only get 2 games instead of 3.

Ya there's an awful lot of funny looking match ups at the group stage this year never mind when they up thr numbers.

Saying that it can be fun to see these random match ups and sometimes they turn out to be great games.

Morocco for example had potential to put on great game today but faded before half time.

I dunno what planet people are living on where a deliberate elbow to the throat isn't a foul. It was not only not a goal, it was violent conduct and a red, regardless of how much of a fanny Pepe acted like after it.
