Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A defensively suspect full-back converted into a centre-back being culpable for conceding a (albeit soft) penalty? Whuda thunk it!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,978 ✭✭✭BenK

It was soft but was silly from Walker

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,978 ✭✭✭BenK

Maguire has been poor in possession so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

    awful play all-around there

Nothing soft about the penalty. It was the right call and VAR backed the referee. It was stupid by Walker.

Once you hear Keown's sharp intake of breath at the end of everything he says you can't unhear it.

I just said the same on the match thread, its like its through his teeth.

Tunisia all over the place at set pieces

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,594 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

Should have been a Pen on Kane there, wonder why the ref refused to check it after being notified to do so

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

How is that not a penalty on Kane? If Walker's "offence" was a foul, that certainly was.

Keown wants a peno for Engalnd as Kane is being wrestled yet he doesnt see Stones clearly pushing the Tunisian before that..,

Maguire making a right nuisance of himself from crosses and corners.
Need to make more of that.

Tunisia look really open can't see England not scoring again soon 3-1 final score i reckon

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,695 ✭✭✭✭osarusan

You have to wonder about Ronnie Whelan sometimes.

"England don't look like breaking them down, apart from a long ball."

What does he see when he watches matches?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

Why did the ref stop the game for that? He was winded, that's all. Get on with it.

Was just about to post them same think

    Mind boggling

    Really enjoying England

The Beeb think before the equaliser "we might not have seen a team play better".
This is why you cant have nice things.

And people were/are knocking Martin Keown. He's a novice compared to Whelan.

Tripper looks like he get a few assists tonight. Has looked very well and has been one of the better players in the opening 45

It was all too predictable that Tunisia would equalise as soon England I was kinda waiting for it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,500 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

Despite the score England have played well, can't see it not being Belgium and England who get out of that group, Panama and Tunisia are very ordinary.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

Super soft pen. England should be out of sight though

I think they are just pleasantly surprised at how well England started...

It was soft. But you can see why the ref gave it. Just a pity the ref didn't see Kane being hauled to the ground later on.

Don't think Tunisia are all that bad. I think they might cause England a few more problems, especially if England frustrated.

Soft penalty but a stupid one to give away he hadn't a chance of scoring all he had to do was get a head to it.

Kane bundled to the ground again there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,225 ✭✭✭marklazarcovic

Tunisia are gonna get a pen coz one of their players is been held in the box aren't they

Tunisia are playing some crazy football, playing stupid passes at the back could get caught out if England can win it back high up the pitch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,295 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Corner to England, will they get a penalty from this one?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Have Tunisia won a defensive header from a set piece yet? England winning everything in the air.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,862 ✭✭✭✭Loafing Oaf

Have England got anyone to bring on here to gee things up? Vardy is the only one I can think of...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,500 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

England can play some good stuff going forward, it's when they get tested at the back where i'd worry for them.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,907 ✭✭✭Stephen15

It's almost like the Tunisian defence are doing all they can to let England score but England are making stupid mistakes every time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,500 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

They should bring on Rashford he could hurt them

Speaking of 'geeing up', Keown just pointed out that England could do with a bit more animation from their uber-calm manager. What was that line about getting Ian Duncan-Smith when you needed Winston Churchill?

Tunisia are very ordinary cannot hold on to the ball at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Dont even know what Tunisia are doing with some of these passes out of defence.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Apologies for the poor picture quality???
Is it sub HD or just cause the second half has been so poor?

Must be someone better than Young at frees? In fairness he wasn't too far away with that one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

Englands best hope is a set piece, been clueless from open play in the second half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,467 ✭✭✭5star02707

England needs to win this can't see how they can draw with this Tunisia team

I actually think they are terrible - trying all these crazy passing triangles and flicks to try and get out of defence, and giving it away all the time.

But England have completely run out of ideas now that there is no space in behind the defence to run into.

Best chance now is to nick something from a free or corner.

Goalkeepers get far too much protection. That was a simple 50-50 call there.

If anything the keeper carried through into stones
