Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Who's the female commentator on BBC?
Her voice is strange, it's like she's putting on a commentator voice that all kids do.

Reading the notes, which they all do, but its noticeably stinted.
I'm sure she's experienced and perhaps she'll grow into it, just needs to be more natural.

Cracking stuff so far...maybe. The crystal clear RTE logo at the bottom just adds insult to injury.

They already have in the rugby, heard a female commentating on under 20 matches.

Gonna have to watch the Portugal players hitting the deck at every opportunity, over the next 45 minutes, if Morroco don’t score.

Wow, women really can multitask, commentating on almost 20 games at the one time.

Ref seems quite weak in this game.

Stuck in work but need a Portugal 2-0 win. How's it looking for those watching? Do they have the win in the bag? Looking likely to score again?

After yesterdays disaster I need this haha!

Morocco are having lots of the ball and are a handy enough passing side, but they look useless up front, but they should be throwing everything at Portugal for the next fifteen minutes, but aside from a set piece I can't see them scoring and they could get easily caught on the break again by Portugal right at the death.

Another pathetic dive from Ronaldo. And another useless free kick.

    And another goal...

Haven't the last few Golden Boot winners scored like 5-6. Ronaldo getting 8 back in 2002 is the biggest of recent times I can remember.

Mad to think Ronaldo is on 4 already.

Alan Sugar trying to apologise for a racist tweet about the Senegal team. Clown.

He deleted the original tweet but it was screenshotted. This is the text that accompanies the picture of the Senegal team.

Richard Dunne and Michael O'Neill are very good analysts, easy to listen to and straight forward in what they say. Much prefer them than Duff, who looks permanently pissed off to be there and is overly cynical.

RTE showed the highlights and talking about Ronaldo. What a **** he is. So much diving, rolling around, brutal free kicks and shots. The me, me, me show.

Not sure what Ireland has to do with it...but they resorted to doing what Ireland would do & swung in a load of (mainly bad) crosses. Best chances were 2 swings of shots by Benatia from dead balls.
Like a few African teams in this they are fairly limited.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,289 ✭✭✭✭rob316

The bad side of Ronaldo. The rolling around and faking injury in that game is just pathetic.

    Anyone care to explain?

If Portugal somehow win this world cup Ronaldo is the GOAT end of story ,
I know he is up there in the top 3 as of now and could very well be number 1 but if they win the world cup its case closed,
The man is an absolutely genius , He is dedicated to his craft and every time he is written off he tweaks a few things and comes back even better , He is a machine and also has the brain to understand what he needs to do to change to remain at the very top ,

And I'm a life long Liverpool fan,

Did anyone see Pepe collapse in a heap when someone tapped him on the shoulder? I think he has to be well up there in the list of most despicable footballers.

Not sure how far Ronaldo and gamesmanship can carry this team tbh.

Not sure how far Ronaldo and gamesmanship can carry this team tbh.

I thought the same at Euro 2016.

Once it gets to the knockout stages anything can happen. Theres less & less between the sides nowadays so if a team can stay solid & defend well & not concede they're worst case scenario a penalty shoot out away from advancing.

He wouldn’t be a million miles away.

He’s very good. I’m not saying it was a stupid call just highlighting a very matter of fact statement in a world of some very good CB’s. Ramos is fantastic. Pique & Umtiti very good too.

Dreadful game. Uruguay know this crowd can't hurt them so just are happy to stand around.

    That's shameful tripe by Uruguay.

They can still bastard their way to the semi's but nobody will have much craic along the way.

    Winners/runner up of group B.

Uruguay just didn't seem bothered to push on and go for goals ,they will need to beat Russia now to top the group.
