Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They where absolute crap in both games,
This is a if my Aunt had nuts she'd be my Uncle type argument ,

Doesn’t mean they will be absolute crap tonight. I think they will beat Nigeria and go through. Im happy to be proven wrong but I’ve a feeling there could be a big reaction to the 3-0 defeat.

Why are Nigeria in their away kit despite being the designated home team and Argentina in their home

How did this Danish team slaughter us.

They are awful. Very little ambition or interest in playing attacking football. Anti football.

Was always going to be the case in this case, with both teams guaranteed to go through with a draw. Neither side played above 70%

I think Nigeria will get one back at least.
There seems to be a good bit of zip in both teams.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

That's the way it is nowadays.

People say it's rules but I'm convinced it's run by the kit manufacturers.

Great replay shot just there of Messi after his goal, down on his knees thanking God. Ronaldo runs to the corner and thanks himself. No ego about Messi, always humble.

That Messi goal was class. The touch and control before. France v Argentina would be good so here's hoping they get through now.

You probably had a great view of the goal from Messi's arse to be fair. :pac:

Comparing how two different players celebrate scoring goals? Weird behaviour.

It is weird behaviour but then that's how conceited and narcissistic Ronaldo is.

Isn't his number 22 for Nigeria really one of the best two cbs the country has?

    He is shocking

Bloody hell, so Ronaldo knows that there is no God or if there is that he's too busy to be controlling sports events and that makes him a have a bigger ego than a fairy tail believing Messi?

If Nigeria had any semblance of quality they'd beat this Argentina side. Need to get Musa in better positions to take them on. Mascherano must be one of the worst performing players in the cup so far.

That’s goal of the tournament so far for me. What a player

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,217 ✭✭✭✭StringerBell

Any credit for the pass no? Thought it was a super ball from banega

Did they just say Messi the first player to score in a WC as a teenager, in his 20s and 30s? That's not right Pele did it too surely.

nope looks like he was 29 in 1970

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,740 ✭✭✭✭MD1990

Madness that Banega was not starting before this game. MOTM so far

Argentina also have Paredes,Icardi,Angel Correa & Joaquin Correa who all should be in the squad.

So humble of Messi to takeover the managerial position. Did he have issues with the manager at the last WC too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,179 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

He's the captain giving a final team talk before the second half begins. Shock, horror.

Ronaldo criticised by some for similar things at the last tournament, and that was without any falling out or players turning on their manager in Portugal.

It was a bit cringy and staged to do so like that in front of the cameras, not enough time to do it in the dressing room ?

There's a lot of crap in the media about Argentina. Maybe they wanted to show everyone that they're united.

The more pens that are awarded for it now will mean less pulling and shoving in the future. Which can only be a good thing.

Flip side is that you will now see the attacking players throwing themselves down under minimal contact at every set piece. It’ll go from one ridiculous extreme to the other.
