Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just the saw the angle from behind Pavard. Its incredible the spin he put on that.

I must say, the keepers positioning was terrible for that, though he still had no hope!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,179 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

If it goes to extra time, France will have the better legs.

France v Argentina is going to bore the tits off us all.

    Yeah, yeah... whatever.

Pavard skies that out of the stadium 99 times out of 100. Freaky strike of the ball.

in fairness you can't blame Pogba for that...any player would have gone forward to block Messi off.
    He was already covered, though.

Unreal spin on that. Some outrageously good goals in this world Cup!

It was a fluke to be honest, more of a miskick.

Did you get on it in time?

Just a meagre 15 quid though! For such a wide open game, with that talent on the pitch and Argentina prone to blow up, disciplinary wise, it was stupid odds by PP!

    He was already covered, though.

you could have three players around Messi and its not enough. At least not a in Barca top :)

    Game over I'd say

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,259 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

    Now Mbappe.

Hernandez is having some game, he's getting a lot of joy down the left. Last two goals have come from his balls into the box.

This has been the match of the tournament so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,179 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

    Keeper should have done better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,136 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

Game over maybe now. Hopefully France don't sit back again now.

It was the Argentinian keeper who made the mistake.

I guess France were saving this for the knockout stages.

    Mbappe has been immense.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,496 ✭✭✭Will I Am Not

France finally woken up and done what was expected. Glad that the Argies don't look like poxing through the rounds again.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,050 ✭✭✭✭The Talking Bread

France are 13/2 with 35 minutes to go ................... I'll have some of that!!
    5/4 now!!

13/2............5/4....................1/4................1/40 in just over 15 minutes

    Football..............bloody hell!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭Minderbinder

    Pogba has been great too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,310 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

Argentina look like they ran out of energy after around 60 minutes, the exertions of the Nigeria match took a lot out of them.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,050 ✭✭✭✭The Talking Bread

    Pogba has been great too.

hope he doesn't pick up a yellow. They will probably take him off just after the 80 minute mark if it stays the same

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,179 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Matuidi just gets a yellow and the commentator then says "France have been very disciplined, they were worried about Matuidi and Pogba getting yellows today".

Then follows up a few minutes later with "I should tell you that Matuidi has been booked".

    We know.

Imagine not brining on someone like Dybala when you're down two goals.

didn't he get the yellow just after that

    Could be wrong

France break down field get deep into Argentinas half and then end up playing it back to their keeper

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,179 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

No, it was right before he said that. You could see Matuidi reacting to the yellow and it popped up on the screen that he received the yellow and would miss the next match.

Good old Ronnie..................."the 2 quick goals have knocked the stuffing out of them and the crowd have gone quiet"

    Deep analysis there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭sonic85

WTF was that from Meza. Jaysus a lot of the Argies look like they don't give a fcuk

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭sonic85

Giving the ball to Mascherano in that area is just like giving it straight to a French player

I'm watching the Beeb, and Danny Murphy does similar.

They were raving about Argies at half time, now in hindsight they are calling them rubbish again.

English love seeing the Argies lose, they can't hide their delight.

He is probably following the live text on the GAA matches with only an eye on the game. Terrible commentator

Di Maria hopeless twice there. Another guy that just vanishes when the going is a bit tough.
