Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Loving it. Hope there's a 11 v 11 brawl :pac:

It is bound to kick of at the end, in which case it will be 25 on 25 :pac:

Agreed. And they have a farcical run of games. And people are saying Russia have it handy.

It's not Englands fault though the rest of the teams have been ****.

Stupid by Lingard there. If we don't get drawn into a battle out there, we've got a good chance.

6 yellows and it's hardly been a dirty game, feels like it could really kick off any second

They have not risen to it for the most part, Columbia don't look like scoring.

Maguire was a dive, definitely. Two red cards? The Colombian and Henderson?

    No way. Stones was accidental.

Even allowing for Sunday, Croatia still look the quality team on this side of the draw.

    Cuadrado is some sham

Lad? It's a long time since I was a lad.

Correct. Born in and spent my first 20 years in Manchester. Parents were Irish.

Quadrado not having his best game - but best player on pitch by miles.

Would have been a different game with Rodríguez

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,215 ✭✭✭✭StringerBell

Lingard should be off I think?

Already been booked, a dive there no?

Not sure if Lingard bottled that or he’s that bad.

I thought Quintero has been the best Columbian from what I have seen.

Not enough in that Lingard tackle. Don't think he dived though.

Was thinking Sterling would have a good game

He is more like Liverpool Sterling tonight - terrible.

Apologies. I was thinking of the whole tournament, not just the English half of the draw. Not careful enough reading the post I replied to.

I think he has been like that for all of his World Cup performances, will be interesting to see if Southgate still sticks with him if they get through tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,003 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

Was just going to type - has this England team the bottle to hold out.

Type of game England would have ****ed up in the past.

    Then that happened.

    Good test for them

Guy on his phone in the crowd on the replay has to be a meme.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,215 ✭✭✭✭StringerBell

That was probably it, can't really see this shower of plodders creating another great chance like that

If this is the final result, England's three World Cup knockout wins since 1990 will all have come against South American teams.

Typically like Columbia - they were a disgrace tonight.

England’s game is almost entirely centred on set pieces.

They beat Denmark in the last 16 in 2002.

Would have been a great game if they played like this from the start!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

We need that second goal to take the Sting out of Colombia. Plus, there could be a fair chunk of injury time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,388 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Should be about 10 minutes injury time after all the messing about.

  • Registered Users Posts: 723 ✭✭✭PhilipsR

Perfect game for Vardy. Be just as useful as Sterling anyways at this point.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,167 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

Colombia are such a one man team. When James was injured they should have just gone home. Has any team been worse than this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

Vardy on for the ruck at FT!

This is a contender for worst game of the tournament. Absolutely wretched from both teams.
