Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

England’s game is almost entirely centred on set pieces.

Why not when you have so many players who are capable of "winning" freees?

Jesus, and so they do regret the lack of a second goal.

Great header and to head it down, made it difficult for Trippier.

England employing the filthy bastard defence

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,995 ✭✭✭FourFourRED

Colombia should go on to win this if they keep the momentum up and cut out the fouling! Creating more chances.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Hoddle talking about fantastic it was that Maguire was telling the the ref he dived and it wasn't a penalty. The Colombians were going mad because it should have been a free out and they almost conceded.

Main commentator then saying "England were known as a last 8 team. The good ol' days" laughing. a) they hadn't even gotten to the QF yet and b) they just focking conceded.

Yerry Mina is some weapon from set pieces.

3rd goal for him what a beast

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

Trippier should be doing better there. Mina is great in the air and it was a good header but try head it out not up and over from the line.

If it continues anything like this, we're heading for pens. Neither side look like creating much.

Mina and Sanchez are a fun partnership to watch. Agile, athletic, strong tacklers, prone to the odd boo-boo and a threat from set-pieces.

Colombia will have that sector of the field sorted for a while anyway.

England are so limited, Colombia have been poor enough.
I think the commentary on ITV is from a different game, "England doing well pushing forward to add to their lead" as they spend several minutes with sideways passing and Walker running forward into space only to turn around and pass the ball 30 yards backwards.
Only the drama of the injury time goal lit up this match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,225 ✭✭✭marklazarcovic

Technically a few Colombians went into the crowd too after the goal..thems bookings

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

Agree with Dunphy there. We were in control of that game, but let Colombia get back into it in the last quarter of an hour. Disappointing. I can see Colombia winning it from here, unfortunately.

Was he not mocking that he wishs he could go back to them days and England have been ****e for the last 12 years.

The one part of the world cup that I really haven't liked has been just how weak the referees have been.

The constant surrounding and whinging towards the refs could be stamped out.

All it needs is a ref to tell the players to go away and if they don't then book them.

Been going on for far too long.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

Colombia played more football in the last 10/15 minutes than either side did for the previous 80
