Moderate to heavyish snow here in Kinnegad, sticking well. I'm off tomorrow so hopefully school is cancelled for the young lad so we can make snowmen, snowball fight and get fertiliser bags to slide down a hill

Leave him off. He will learn more at that than at school. I say that as a teacher.

Just started here now as well. Not a huge amount but some decent flakes

Snowing small, wettish flakes now in Celbridge (65 m amsl). Car was frozen so it's sticking.

    Thanks ever the optimist Kermit

We need the wind to change direction or ease down

A NW gale will only bring rain to very coastal NW

Not optimistic, temps will fall back. Toward dawn your best shot to see snow line down to sea level...if your stuck on the coast.

Snowing in the curragh as well and it's sticking. I'm up for work in 4 hours but don't want to sleep now lol.

Great attitude! Was spoiled growing up in Cavan at a decent elevation in the 80's so would get a few days most years, total nostalgia with this situation and would like him to have a day like that :)

big blob over midlands looks like it's gonna slide just to my south, over north Kildare and on to south Dublin, maybe the city centre.

I got it in north Kildare. Been moderate in intensity for a while and all surfaces have a covering now. There's very recent BIG intensification upwind of both of us so I'm confident you'll get your white gold within the hour. Looks fantastic on the radar.

Surely that is grasping at straws, a few flakes that may or may not stick, post back when the ground is not visible

It’s only started as I took the picture ........

Easing off now but I will bare in mind your request next time .

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,178 ✭✭✭pad199207

That stuff over Kildare is a shower train stretching back up to mayo almost
If you’re under it,you’re going to be under it for a while, question is will it cross the Wicklow mountains as it’s present course would send it my way ?
It would have to cross lug and other high points so needs all its strength
I’ll report if it did in the morning

How far south is this going to go? Looks like it could stay dry for the south east? In north kk here 200m asl.
