    Hi,

We snagged on Friday and there was little in the way of major issues uncovered except for one thing.

The tiles in the kitchen are uneven and dipping in the middle and rising at the corners. They seem to be just a bad batch as opposed to being laid uneven.

We were anticipating closing and getting keys on Friday. Our lease is up Saturday and from Monday we have delivery trucks, carpets etc lined up throughout the week.

So to help with this we have a few options.

    a) get floor relaid and delay closing and possibly miss out on furniture deliveries until after Christmas with new delivery dates unlikely
    b) close as normal and hold back 5k and get tiler complete job in January

It’s a few days job to remove and retile depending on floor area.
Tell the Builder you’ll wait. He will most likely get the job done so he gets paid this side of Christmas.

Last thing you want is to move in and then go through the hassle of tile removal with your personal belongings in there. It’s a dusty, very dusty job.
