Should Russia be banned from the 2018 World Cup?

The IAAF took a stance last year. The IOC have finally done the same, after bottling it last year. Doping is endemic in Russian sport. Will FIFA follow suit, or is it as clear as day that they do not care about doping in football?

If we were to ban the countries who dope, I'd guess a lot of the countries at WC2018 might not be allowed to play.

To ban the host nation from their own tournament six months in advance sounds barmy. If the Russian football team are doping then it isnt working. They are terrible. Couldnt get out of the group in the Confederations tournament.

Yes...but they won't. Even if they were not hosts, FIFA would still turn a blind eye.

Ah hold on now. Before Gallas got that controversial goal the tie was 1-1 so the best we could probably hope for was penalties at that stage. There is no guarantee that we could have won that shootout. Your forgetting also the FAI took a sneaky €5m from FIFA for that controversy so there was the payback.

As for number 2, its a squad game. Its not nice to see but bad injuries happen in football all the time. This is no reason whatsoever to allow us into a World cup. Are you forgetting the lacklustre display out in Georgia among others?

Being brutally honest, our football team while they are an honest hardworking group of lads would add absolutely nothing to the World Cup. The Denmark disaster pretty much rubberstamped this fact.

If we get to a World cup, id prefer it to be on merit and not just for any bulls*it reasons like 'the craic factor' or because we were wronged in a match.
