Hi, I started a thread on Bitcoin in AH today but it was quickly locked and I was told there was a forum for that. Not the first time such action has been taken. I didn't have any specific query about it, just wanted to hear your average Joe's opinion. But so be it (note I think starting a thread in Cryptocurrency forum asking if any of the forum regulars own Bitcoin is moronic so we'll just have to miss out on that).

So with those rules in place, I had a look at the front page of AH. Pretty much nothing belongs there.

"Homeless campaigner is a fraud." - Belongs in Politics maybe?

"Army coup to take place in Dublin today" - As a discussion about the Army and Jadotville etc, clearly it belongs in the Military forum.

"Annoyingly Trivial Things-Bitches be cray cray week." - This is the clearest offender, off to Ranting and Raving.

    "On your deathbed" - Bereavement?

"Housemates who lliterally live in their rooms" - Ranting and Raving, or Accom.

"Harvey Weinstein seems to have lost some political protection..." - Celebrity forum.

So what exactly is AH for? And why haven't these threads been moved, closed or whatever?

Have you discussed this with the local mods?

I've had a quick look at the thread you started and will set out my initial thoughts.

Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies are a (very) specialist topic. Yes we do have a forum to discuss them, and no, unlike your comments in the thread you started in AH it's not a dead forum. It's been in place for barely 2 months and a lot of contributors will be learning a "bit" from reading and indeed contributing to that forum.

Yes most AH topics could be started in other forums, but when it's a specialist topic like this I can see why you were re-directed to the much more relevant forum
