I was wondering is there any way of bringing my micro sd card back to life.
Its not recognised by my phone ie. my phone thinks there is no micro sd inserted and when i put it into my pc via card reader nothing happens.
    It isn't recognised at all.
It doesn't recognise that anything was inserted.
The micro sd seems to be completely dead.
Is there any way of bringing it back to life?

turn off the phone and take out the micro sd card.

I've done this myself, so I'm not preaching at you:

Try a couple of full size SD card frames for your micro sd card to fit into.

    Like from samsung, kingston etc.

then put in a SD card slot on your computer.

if you can successfully read the micro sd card, then transfer the data on it unto a brand new micro sd card asap. good luck OP.

    Try a USB adapter.

I don't really think that's going to work.
Sure I've already tried it with a micro sd card usb adapter.
You're saying I should buy an adapter to turn it into an sd card and also get an sd card adapter so I can use the fake sd card in my pc.
Putting a dead micro sd card into an adapter into another adapter into my pc is not going to fix it.
I'm more than likely going to waste my money and get the same result.
I just can't see how that's going to bring my sd card back from the dead.
Anyway I still won't be able to use it in my phone and that's what I wanted it for and what it was bought for.
It is a 5 year old micro sd anyway but if I could bring it back to life it would be great.

It's only a 8gb micro sd card so wouldn't cost much to replace anyway.
Wheres a good place online to buy micro sd cards?
I know there's a lot of dodgy fakes going around on some sites.

A home reflow might make it function again, but it also nukes all the data onboard so is kinda pointless.

    mymemory.co.uk are great.

I don't mind if the data is nuked.
If I could get the card working again it would be great.

It seems unlikely to me that it would be recoverable and if it's failed this badly once it will do it again.

I know it's not what you want to hear but you would be better to just buy a new card, they are very cheap these days.

Agree with post above..once it give you trouble it is unreliable = don't use it.
Personally burned some money on buying "budget" cards....never again, so when buying new card make sure get from trusted source, they not that expensive anymore.
