Hundred grand to the winner. Fairly serious imo.

lol, have you seen some of the absolute shite on telly?

If it's getting viewers then both Lakeside and C4 will continue with their involvement.

I'm not even a darts fan and have found myself having this on as background noise over the last few days

Not just about production costs though, it's about ad revenue. Advertisers pay more to advertise during live sporting events and C4 run a **** load of adverts during their darts broadcasts.

Someone described this darts tournament as like watching dwarf porn. You shouldn't be watching it but you do anyway. Their words.....

BBC were pumping all the money into production, they don't get advertising revenue

the tournament really suffers from the amount of PDC now on tv , some of the matches have been shocking ,scott baker v Andy Baetens was a decent standard and it was a pity they played against each other

    Nilsson left that behind him

BBC can't run ads like C4 can.

Are some of the female players in the bdo wearing costumes too?. Paula Jacklin like something from Bo'Selecta.

She certainly has some facial gymnastics when she throws!

Deta Hedman drives me up the wall when shes on comms

    She talks so much ****

I think she feels she had to answer every single comment her co commentator says, the concept of rhetorical questions escapes her.

    And that's done.

Aye fortunately the game didn't last very long so we didn't get an overdose of her!

Don't get me wrong, she's been great for the Womens game in the BDO but she comes across as so arrogant at times

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,941 ✭✭✭krustydoyle

And another thing that drives me mad is that they seem to focus on how badly the loser played rather than how well the winner played!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,762 ✭✭✭✭Inquitus

De Vos started well but he's gone to shíte since the first set or so.

Well in most matches the winner is the one who's thrown slightly less badly than the loser, there's not been a decent winning average yet! Don't think anyone has thrown over 95 yet with most well, well short of that.

Thanks for the link, I don't have BT Sport so most of my viewing has been confined to the afternoons on CH4 which probably has a lower standard than the night sessions to be fair.
