These lads game craft (for want of a better term) really let's them down. Leaving yourself on a double you aren't hitting like de vos has been with 40, or Telnekers choices for finishes regularly.

    Edit: then he hits 40!

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

What a strange character, even his reaction when he lost was bizarre.

Nothing gets you finishing two or three darts a leg quicker than knowing your opponent will act like that if they get beat.

Fair play to the German but Hughes has other things on his mind.. He's off to PDC Q School

An so he should...the BDO is a waste of time at this stage.
A mediocre PDC player can make multiple in prize money than a successful BDO player.

BDO is dead...sad to see bit it's true...its full of part time rejects.
PDC is where it's at...these fcuking 80 averages don't cut it against the best in the world

I posted in some othger thread about my drunk 50 averages tonight....us posters should be playing in the BDO ....anyone whos serious and good at darts plays in the PDC...the rest of us will try become a BDO "world champion".

But your average would make you by far the worst player in the competition

Not surprised by that either now, he seemed to enjoy the atmosphere at the Grand Slam. Best of luck to him

Look down the combined two year money list on the PDC website. It's a struggle for a lot of the mid ranking lads (64 and down), making 15k - 20k a year.

You need to be in the top 32 on the list to be earning well.

The BDO has its place. There's a huge world of amateur and semi professional Darts out there.

Well put, everyone has to start somewhere and this gives lads a nice launchpad to build upon..

Noppert was terrible, fancied him to win it. :rolleyes:Amazing how a player can be solid one day and a nervous wreck the next. Gave McGeeney waaaaaay too much respect and looked nervous throughout.

You have to remember Noppert lost his mother recently too so it can't be easy for him

Noppert averaged 85 or something in his first game, hardly solid.

Well he was finishing well and looked cool as a cucumber. Today looked uncomfortable up there and nervy. Noted his berevement.

Just a reminder that young Irishman Killian Heffernan takes on reigning champion Justin Van Tergouw (NL) in the World Youth's Final at Lakeside tomorrow (12:05pm, C4)
