When I start the laptop I see the Acer logo .. then screen goes blank and reboots and repeats this.

I can press F2 to go into bios.. but nothing really on there that will help.

I opened it up and made sure ram was secure and HDD was ok.

Not sure if t had a fall as I don't be home all day.

    Not sure what to do.

    I

    What's the OS?

If you tap F8 while it's starting can you get in to the recovery options?

Run memtest to check ram would be my first stop anyway

Try booting to BIOS with HDD removed, and optical if it has one

Win 7 F8 does nothing I tried all other F keys nothing happens.. only F2 and it's setup not bios like I said above

I've never removed laptop HDD before only desktop.

Also it's setup menu not bios. ( I got it wrong )

    The MBR might be shagged.

Get Hirens Boot CD (http://www.hirensbootcd.org/) and use rufus to create a live USB.

You should be able to use F12 to get in to the bios / boot order settings.

Boot in to Hirens and run the FixMBR program.

It also has other diagnostics you can run (like memtest mentioned earlier).

Cool. I'll check this tomorrow. I've used Rufus before and have a few usbs .
