Thats a load of bollox, it was City that walked away from Sanchez due to the prices been asked and not Sanchez who turned them down. United are sloppy seconds. City was his first choice, United his second.

    Yeah sure. :D

Of course it will if we sign Sanchez we are getting a player that will hopefully be one of the best in the league you pay more for them.

It's pretty clear we won't save money but what the original poster ment was getting rid of miki at same time saves his wages off the wage bill that can be put towards Sanchez.

It can't be spelt anymore clearer.

Wenger having a nice dig at Chelsea and city staying he respects united as they generate their own money to buy players etc.

    C'mon Bangkok
Wage bills go up and down all the time. That's the price of doing business. You get a player in it goes up, you let a couple go it goes down. That's the market for you.
Whats the net effect of the proposed deal (even though its not happening) We're paying about 200k a week extra for a player consider one of the top 20 players in the world??
That's the price of doing business. You don't buy a Ferrari, expect it to perform like a Ferrari and run it on a Fiat Panda engine do you????

What happens when Zlatan is gone likely this summer? You've gotten his wages off the payroll. That's likely the difference between Mkhi and Sanchez in wage.

We're well managed financially and can easily afford the wages, so there's no issue in bringing in any player. Our revenues continue to raise and we can afford the extra salary for top class players.

Just realised that he won’t be cup tied for the FA cup either.. free to play in every comp :D

Off topic a bit but I've been away from the gossip most of the window just the odd bits I see here. Sanchez obviously one of them.

But are Chelsea really pursuing Carroll? No disrespect to Carroll but my word that's surprising.

We may put an afro wig on Sanchez for Bangkok to accept him.

We are the wealthiest football club in the world with record turnover, what we pay in wages is irrelevant when we want top talent at the club.Did anyone care what kind of bonuses Zlatan was getting as they watched him knocking in the goals last season.
When you see Chelsea paying 17 year olds up to £100k a week and nobody ever seeing them get near the first team it puts wages into perspective.

Don't hold much stock in he wage figures reported. Even now the amount reportedly paid to Pogba (for example) changes all the time.

United are well run financially and any wage offerred to Sanchez will be well considered, from his individual value to future bargaining with existing or future players.

It will have lots going on from a basic wage to bonuses, sign on fees in line with his contract position at Arsenal to image rights payments based on income generated on the commercial side and more that even the journos who work in football wouldn't know about never mind us.

In short it will be well under control.

Reading another sports witness article about mourinho being tempted to sign Lass Diarra on a free as PSG aren't too keen. Wouldn't say no to him on a 6month deal if he's any bit the player he was

Alan Smith on SSN talking about the huge money, how the common man might get detached.

Yes he's on a channel for a company that pumped 5 billion pounds into the league talking about excessive money

If Sanchez does sign wait till his debut, they will be gathered around a big screen on SSN comparing the price of the Utd team to the team they are playing

The Yeovil game would be the ideal game for that kind of BS

City play then and not a word said about money

Arsenal want £10 million and Mikhitryan, united want a straight swap. This bit is holding things up.

TBH United and city are generally going to go after 70% the same players so its no surprise really. never heard of the player TBh but think we'll see plenty of United and city going at players from smaller clubs to try and hoover up talent and either hold, develop and sell if not good enough!!!

You know when you buy a Ferrari to replace a Corolla, it's going to be more expensive to run.

But you can afford the petrol and the performance should justify the cost.

I'm convinced Sky bosses influence what they are actually saying on Live TV, stirring the pot is just more sensational and ultimately gets more views.

I didnt dispute that. I agree with you, its just we are not saving wages. Our bill has gone up.

Its like the missus, she sees a handbag reduced from 500 to 300. She buys it and says we saved 200. No we didnt, I spent 300 :)

    JUST GET IT DONE ALREADY!

If we get it sealed today, it will be interesting to see if he plays at the weekend.

Fitness would not be a concern, but would Jose want to put him straight in without any time to even say 'Hi' to the other players? No reason he couldn't be put straight into the team, even on the bench, but I dunno - just seems odd that he could be training at Arsenal today and starting for United on Saturday.

I’m sure if he signs today or tomorrow before 12 Jose will call the squad in to get to know him n that even if it’s a rest day.. straight onto the bench on Saturday id say.

Jose could also be in touch with him talking tactics for Burnley to him..

Id say he will go straight into the team or bench at worst. Playing off lukaku with martial left and mata right

Of course they're influenced. Sports journalism is inherently a manufactured industry given there just isn't enough naturally occurring stories to keep it going and so they have to generate a larger narrative to which the small "news" items are then skewed to feed into.

Also, certainly don't see Sanchez starting if signed by noon tomorrow. Would be a bit of a kick in the teeth to immediately drop one of Mata/Lingard/Martial who have all played well recently without him even having trained and knock squad morale.

people forget his goal v Chelsea in 2003 very quick.

it was 1-1 and game was slipping away.

into injury time and Forlan smashes one into roof of net. we won and United went in to win league.

was the turning point in that season
