Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

****e game, poor performance from the forwards but a very good goal and we certainly deserved to win that. Three points are all that matter.

    We go again.

Wasn't the greatest performance but it's always going to be scrappy against Burnley I'll take it it's 3 good points.

    Roms assist was pure filth.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,559 ✭✭✭✭yabadabado

    Very poor performance all round.
    Passing was atrocious by times.

Felt Burnley deserved a draw. They were the better team and we scrapped through the win. One awesome goal, but a few instances of really, really poor decision making could have cost us.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,424 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

    Glad that one is done.

Can't keep wasting chances on the break, Pogba and Rashford not staying calm enough to pass.

Didn't give up much, 1 nil away, happy with the result.

All about momentum and need to get a strong run of results after messing up over christmas.

    No idea,no injuries at all.

We were poor but it says a lot about the team to be off form and still win..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

    Thank **** for that.

The old leaderless characterless Head raised itself again. Sanchez won’t fix that. What he will do you imagine though would have put that game to bed today. He wouldn’t have been as wasteful in the final third.

    I’m afraid to. I think they’ll get a mauling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,225 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

Those games happen. Bad performance but 3 points and another clean sheet. We're incredibly difficult to get through.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

Passing was poor across the team. Even passes that reached team mates were behind the player and not encouraging people to take it on and run. Disappointed with Lukaku, felt he had turned a corner last week but his touch, passing and aerial ability were all lacking today. Pogba was incredibly wasteful on the counter as well.

3 points, but we won't get away with it against Spurs.

    6-1
    5-0
    4-0
    4-0

Citys last 4 home games against Newcastle, I'm in agreement with you on that one

They didn't make De Gea work though. They worked hard but they haven't got much quality.

As an aside, their players are up there with the worst I have seen for getting in the refs ear and appealing for things. Surprised none of them were booked for it.

I think Sanchez would be Alot more vocal on the pitch then most of our players we have no one out there shouting at sloppy players.

a totally forgetful game but another big 3 points

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,500 ✭✭✭Your Airbag

Poor showing again today. We won so ppl will brush it off but its the same kind of from that lead us to have a disastrous christmas period and destroy our title hopes. If this form continues the 2nd half of the season wont be easy viewing and our CL run might not continue past the next round.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,137 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

Not going to do my usual loosing the rag after an absolutely dreadful performance.

I'm going to initiate the "get out of there with the 3 points and move on". Thought the Shaw decision baffling and really just stupid until I saw Shaw on the bench in good spirits. Maybe it's good to give him some breaks considering his limited football.

Was a frustrating game aswell with the refereeing, really dislike games officiated by Dean.

Should have really been 3-0 which puts an entirely different aspect on the feeling, but Pogba blew two glorious chances to slide people in.

Anyway not going to get negative or cause drama, we have major positive news coming shortly I gather :D

sevilla have nothing to fear anyway when they place us

If we had more clinical forwards we'd be winning these games comfortably, Sanchez will make a huge difference

  • 3 points at Burnley

    Jaysus lads cheer up

Our players are so effin thick. So many breaks wasted by stupid decisions.

Was absolutely furious when Pogba shot rather than slipping martial in. Stupidly selfish.

Maybe Sanchez will up our intelligence levels up top. Can't make it worse.

I'd have taken that this morning tbh. Scrappy as **** but winning there is always hard work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,169 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

Our attack is stale (aside from Martial). If we sign Alexis he is able to play in all 4 attacking spots (center, left, right and striker) so that competition for places might spark our attacking players to perform or be dropped. Martial seems to have improved since he was in a straight fight with Rashford for the left slot!

A win is great but a lot of moves broke down at strange simple points.

Why? While shaw has been decent, young has had an amazing run of form in the position, he deserves game time as much as anyone else.

Merson saying the game was boring but efficient, and thats why he thinks we could grind out a CL win :P

    I don't think they'd agree with you.

But that's not an usual stance

Really like listening to Rio and Lampard together in the studio.
    Two of the better ones.

    sure city drew with palace

What chance have they got in the CL? :pac:

Getting a little worried about Rashford, blowing cold the last few weeks, Martial doing well and Rashers needs to respond or he's going to be getting limited game time when Sanchez gets into town
