Because a team needs to be built to challenge.
The midfield badly needs additions, much more than the forward line, especially now with the arrival of Sanchez.
It would be ludicrous to spend £200 million on another attacker when the starting 11 still doesn’t have the balance or personnel to challenge at ththe moment.

I’ve no doubt Jose is targeting a CM next.

My point is that if there's only enough money to get Kane and not the others we need too then yeah we can't buy Kane. However we're insanely rich and if a player like Kane comes on the market we'd be crazy not to be there regardless of if it's 200 million so long as we can add elsewhere too. Kane is a once in his generation striker. No other player his age will score close to as many career goals as him.

Maybe it's years of Fergie, but I'm a sucker for a striker above all else.

I saw this doing the rounds on Reddit and Twitter yesterday but didn't see it posted in here yet. A bit of Ed appreciation...

    • Nabbed Sanchez from City
    • Nabbed Lukaku from Chelsea
    • Made Morata dye his hair red for no reason
    • Kept de Gea with a “broken fax machine”
    • Nabbed Pogba from Madrid
    • Got a tractor and noodle sponsorship deal
    • Got Matic from Chelsea

Has anyone ever gone to an away game and sat with the home fans and enjoyed it?

I’ve done it in Anfield twice!! It was torture

Back to where we belong? You mean where Fergie brought us by not buying ready made superstars?

You mean players like Andy Cole,Ferdinand, tried for shearer ronaldinho, signed veron and robin van persie.... it's only been 5 years since he retired surely all he did can't be forgotten and mixed up already.

Fergie spent alot of money buying a lot of stars at United people seem to forget this.

And that’s the best you can come up with from 27 years of Fergie in charge.

Yes okay, fair enough we bought some big names during his time. What I took exception to was the idea that we should be only after superstars, and if we try to sign a smaller name it shows a lack of ambition.

We need a clever experienced striker imo and Vardy would be perfect with pace an added bonus. I’m sure there are other second tier strikers who we could also sign that I don’t know about. But I don’t get the general dislike for Vardy tbh.

Well I agree we shouldn't be only singing superstars but I just pointing out what we did under fergie. That was just off tip of my head but United have always signed marquee players even before fergie we just weren't very good at building teams around them for a while before him.

Sort of, back in '87 when Coventry won the cup we drew them in 3rd or 4th round, my mate and i, being the little bollixes we were, decided it would be great craic to go into the Coventry end at OT as they only brought maybe 300 with them for the league meeting earlier in the season (i know, what were we gonna do against 300 even!!)

So we went into the away terrace at the bottom of K Stand, didn't realise they'dbring mroe with them, had more or less the whole end, , Rich and i just stood there with united scarves under our jackets :pac::pac:

Went to a copper, discreetly showed him our colours and said it was our first time at OT and we got lost :rolleyes: Got escorted back to the United Road through no mans land, half way, scraves came out and we started the chanting, then the whole united road started singing "Reds are here, reds are there, reds are every fcukin where la la la la la"

I don't think it'll be too hostile at Wembley as there will be a fair amount of neutrals I'd say but think I'll skip it.

Maybe I'll try my luck when we meet in the semi final of the CL.

Never mind the band wagon, hope you are getting ready to devour a hat. :pac:

I didn't see the game myself but it's good to see that there are positive reports about Mitchell's performance from what I imagine was a very competitive match.

Anytime I saw him play in the U23s, well, most times I saw him in the U23s, I was impressed. He only turned 20 last week, there's still time for him to develop.

He started out as a winger and is now a full back. Jose does like those kind of full backs.

Alexis Sánchez to Manchester United is one of the most exciting transfers to happen in a January transfer window. Incredible that they have pulled it off. Huge player to have in the Champions League.

Sanchez will be a massive player in the champions league for us. Beat sevilla, get a decent 1/4 final draw and we are looking at a champions league semi final. Anything can happen over 2 legs
