Latest Met Eireann, tomorrow night, coldest in a long time....

Tonight will be dry at first in many areas, but very cold and frosty, with icy stretches. However rain in the southwest will become heavy and widespread across Munster and the far south of Leinster, with a risk of spot flooding, the rain moving gradually northeastwards and turning to snow across much of Connacht and many parts of Leinster, with significant accumulations. Most of Ulster will remain dry, but there is a risk of snow later in the far south. Minimum temperatures ranging 2 to 6 degrees in Munster, but 0 to minus 6 elsewhere, coldest in the north early in the night. Winds mostly moderate to fresh southeasterly, but very strong westerly winds will develop later along west and south coasts.

    Tomorrow

Bitterly cold, with falls of sleet or snow in many areas at first with further outbreaks of rain in Munster and the far south of Leinster. Brighter, mainly dry conditions in Ulster will extend gradually southwards during the afternoon and evening, but it will turn even colder and rain may turn to sleet or snow for a time in the south and southwest later, before finally clearing in the evening. Highest temperatures 1 to 3 Celsius generally. Strong westerly winds for a time along south and southwest coasts. Winds elsewhere mostly moderate northeasterly, but fresh to strong along Atlantic coasts.

    Outlook

On Sunday night temperatures will fall to as low as minus 8 degrees, and possibly lower still, as skies clear over lying snow. The lowest temperatures will be in the north midlands. Further to the south, temperatures over Munster will be more typically between minus 2 and minus 3 degrees. The widespread, severe frost will bring treacherous driving conditions to the whole country with all areas at risk. Sleet and snow will continue for a time, but will gradually die away as the night goes on. Winds will be mostly moderate westerly.

Temperature here in north county Dublin has risen from -2 to -1 in the last hour. We're at sea level here so probably doing a little better than expected, even if the trend is in the wrong direction

Is there any chance Galway city will get a bit of snow to stick?

Looks like it’s gojng to be clear and cold with little perception at all if YR is to be believed.

Is YR forecasting snow anywhere in Ireland tonight/tomorrow? They're normally quite accurate but no mention of snow in any irish location I checked

    what did it say?

Is YR just automated from each model run. Can't see why they'd put as much effort into forecasting Ireland as Met Eireann does.

Some of those automated apps are terrible though. Had accu weather telling me it was snowing in Waterford last month! Can't even get realtime right!!

How long does it normally take to go up online?
I'm torn between being excited and not being excited at all. 90m ASL, 30km inland in North Kildare. Will it be enough.......
