I am currently trying to sell my apartment and will be putting it on the market in the coming weeks. I cannot afford to pay the mortgage while it is vacant as I have my own rent etc to pay. How hard is it to get a break in your mortgage for a couple of months. We are not in arrears so far.

It depends on the particular bank. Some have a ready option to allow for a small break, others make you go into the MARP process.

It's best to approach your bank about it. If you aren't in negative equity and want to sell then I think they will be very accommodating.
