Multiple things really - I think the man is about as fake as it gets, I didn't mind him before but his last stint on Rogan where he was discussing how he almost died scuba diving, he essentially put the blame on another person, despite him breaking diving rules and turning back to try help this guy. Then it's that guys fault Cowboy got into difficulty, which makes me think this guy doesn't accept responsibility for his own shortcomings and the only thing bigger than his Budweiser sponsored ranch is his ego. In general any time he's been on Rogan I've ended up disliking his character more and more, he makes stupid comments trying to be cool like 'If I wasn't in the UFC I'd be that guy in a bar hitting on your girl'

Then there's the fight side of things where he's bottled most big fights that he's gotten and is still there calling out McGregor after beating Mike Perry who isn't even in the top 10 WW, despite being a fairly well regarded fighter. If you look at his record, he's beaten average guys and has pretty much never won against top level opposition.

Fair play to him on being a gamey fighter, and I get that he's a fan favourite, I just struggle to see what all the fuss is about when it comes to him.

Fair enough. Atleast you have your reasons!

    "A note on Iain Kidd
By John Ness Dec 8, 2018, 6:55pm EST

On Friday, Bloody Elbow became aware of news reports linking one of our writers to criminal activities including possession of child pornography. As a result, Bloody Elbow and SB Nation terminated his contract that same day.

SB Nation and Bloody Elbow strongly condemn the types of activities reported and encourage our readers and listeners to visit Protect Children in Canada, Stop It Now in Scotland, and Darkness 2 Light in the United States for more information to support victims."

Agree with you but I actually thought he had a chance of getting the Conor fight for the simple reason of Conor thinking it would be a handy fight and it would be imo.

He's painful to listen to but I love watching him fight.

Just watching Jones commission hearing, there after suggesting that he signs up to VADA testing, looked like he was caught on the hop had to take a few minutes to talk to his council.

So he's agreed to it in principle once his people "look over the programme".

233 really looking like it could be cancelled altogether. Wouldn't be the first time they cancelled a card in Anaheim!

Bisping on JRE is very interesting.

His eye is still ****ed the poor fella. Hopefully he never fights again even if he can get cleared because it's a ticking time bomb according to the doctors. Clinically blind in the eye, but still within limits to be licensed apparently.

I understand why he did it but he did himself no favours health-wise taking that Gastelum fight. He will soon be commentating on UFC events though so at least they have kept him employed with that and punditry.

100%, the fact he now has a prosthetic in his eye is mental.

Hopefully that's him done now anyway , keep up the fox work etc he's a great analyst.

Didn't that happen to Rocky after his first fight with Apollo Creed? Didn't stop him becoming heavyweight champ either :D

I still remember watching that fight and couldn't believe what I was seeing as Bisping was walking out. He was all smiles, strolling, giving the thumbs up to the camera. Very different from his usual intense aura. At that point I think everyone knew he was f*cked and was not right mentally for it.

A lot of soundbites from that Kavanagh interview are being picked up in the MMA media and wider media. Even Chael has a video about the potential strained relationship between McGregor and Kavanagh.

Obviously a lot of the headlines are being taken out of context (deliberately) but will still be interesting to see how this plays out.

I think it was a very good interview by Kimmage, most MMA media goes very easy on fighters and coaches because MMA is all they report on and getting shut out of even one camp has huge repercussions on their reporting. Kimmage doesn't care and asked some tough but fair questions. Kavanagh to his credit gave the kind of answers that he should have given years ago.

Kimmage is the best. The biggest cynic in Ireland but he makes for a great journalist because of it.

Johns not trying to hide the strained relationship and neither is McGregor really with all his sbg Naas pics. I doubt CMG appreciated the little media tour John went on just after the fight.

Possibly not the correct place, but has there been any clarification on where the rights for UFC are going once BT loses them in the new year? I know eleven sports were holding the rights, but has it been announced whether they will be doing a deal with one of the TV companies?

I'm in the process of (probably) leaving Sky due to a 30% increase in price of 3 years and going to Virgin, but the lack of BT there for football annoys me, and if Sky were to be able to show UFC it might sway me.

    Eleven has the rights.

They are talking about working with the TV providers to get onto the platforms but nothing confirmed yet.

What interview is this? Might be missing it but can't see the source in the last few pages. I like me some Kimmage.

Looks like UFC is staying with BT Sports

Can confirm that the UFC is staying on BT from 2019 onward. The UFC triggered an exit clause in their contract with @ElevenSports_UK as they have not agreed a carriage deal with any operators. They had to have at least one deal by the beginning of December, and they don't.
