Is anyone else planning on going to London for the Paddy's weekend show? Some solid fights added already , I'm assuming till will be in the main event

Jones claims he wants to fight Wilder and Joshua in boxing.

Does he have a death wish or do these picograms make him immune to brain damage?

    He'd be murdered.

Rose Namajunas v Jessica Andrade at UFC 237 in Brazil. And Derrick Lewis v Junior dos Santos headlines March 9th fight night.

They’ll avoid naming a main event for a while, tickets will sell out instantly, and soon after they’ll announce that Volkan vs Reyes fight as the main.

McGregor has a lot to answer for with all this attempted crossover to boxing talk by Khabibs manager and now Jones. As if the boys have a hope in a boxing ring

AJ should cross over to MMA; with some training he'd make a beast IMO...

Jones at HW in boxing would get destroyed....

Canelo at MW would destroy him for chrissake...

Mike Tyson would have ruled MMA had he been there in his prime....

Mike Tyson or Joshua, any of them would be strangled in seconds or else kicked to pieces. They wouldn't even get in punching range. " some" of training he says. Get on

    James Toney says hello.

It'd take much more than some training to even get on to a decent level for anyone crossing very. Especially with how well rounded fighters are these days.

I'd love to see some cross over fights if in being perfectly honest.

Theres a reason its always mma guys looking to box, boxers don't want to fight in the cage.

  • Registered Users Posts: 55,460 ✭✭✭✭walshb

I’m talking about dedicated MMA switching...

Prime Tyson dedicated to MMA, not a washed up version who is looking to make a buck.

Same for AJ, proper crossover/training and dedication...

    Both would be beasts...

Tyson’s Power, speed and overall body composition would be lethal..

FFS, Cormier is the supposed best man at HW..

I know mate I was stung with that a few years ago with Anderson v Manuwa. Total disaster. They won't catch me that easily again. I'm gonna wait til the main event is announced and then make a call on it

I've got flights and accommodation booked but unless there's a decent main event I won't bother with the UFC. That night I went to Manuwa v Anderson was the worst event ive been to by a mile.

Hoolahan v Smolka be hard to top for me, flop of an event that said it was planned as Duffy Poirier with Stipe v Rothwell as co-main. Chatting with Holloway,Hardy and Big Ben the night before was better than the fight night itself.

Cormier is wrestling since hes a child, hes an Olympic medalist ffs! Joshua could train soley wrestling the next 5 years an it still wouldn't be competive.

Why are you just focusing on wrestling? MMA is mixed, no?...

Anyway, Cormier needs to get a hold of an AJ or Tyson first, and then bring them down...

Tyson's size, low center of gravity, thick bulk, shock absorber neck and excellent balance would see him a difficult man to bring down, not to mention Cormier having to avoid Mike's punches when they are close...

Because you mentioned Cormier, hes predominantly a wrestler. Wrestling is the most effective aspect of mma. Olympic wrestler will beat a boxer/Striker everytime.

    Beat him in wrestling..

    This is MMA...

Effective IF he can get them to ground..

Take two fighters. One Olympic gold medalist boxer and one Olympic gold medalist freestyle wrestler.

Give them both 2/5/10 years to train MMA and then have them fight.

The wrestler absolutely murders the boxer 99 times out a 100.

There is no if he can get it to the ground. The boxer is getting mauled as soon as the wrestler wants to get him to the ground.

I am not talking about an Olympic boxing gold medalist..

I said a prime Tyson if he dedicated to MMA he’d be a beast..

I’d pick him to murder Cormier...

Only hope Cormier has is to take Tyson to ground and keep him there..

I’d think that task very difficult...

i know ngannou is no way close to the level of boxing as tyson or joshua but he does throw the hardest punch on the planet and look what stipe did to him.

conor great punching and movement look how he did against khabib

dc is born and bread wrestling doesnt matter who you are you can get to that level in five or six years

Have you ever watched Cormier fight?
He'd have no trouble getting Tyson or AJ on their back to be pummeled or choked to oblivion.
It's not like he'll take one punch and be out cold.

Cormier is an out and out beast, and has manhandled some rather large men. I don't think he'd have much trouble with Tyson or AJ.

    Exactly.

DC literally picks full grown men, who just happen to be some of the best fighters on the planet, off their feet and throws them through the air at will.

    The man is a monster.

You seen what happened McGregor Walsh. And even though hes a striker he has been training grappling over 10 years an was still taken down with ease by a wrestler.
