Time to hang up the gloves all right. He has broken records recently. Longest defeated streak in UFC history.

I bet we see him in Bellator or a Bare Knuckle bout within 6 months.

That's a given. Bellator will lap him up.

I thought the UFC had already booked him again, must have been just a rumour.

Bj vs Gallagher in Bellator. It’d be nice for Bj to retire with a win.

    I’d be backing Gallagher.
    BJ is broken

It's really depressing to see former greats go down that road. I'm sure they convince themselves that it's just bad luck and they can turn it around, but it's hard to watch. Frank Mir is another example. 2-8 in his last 10 fights....he got destroyed in his two Bellator appearances.

BJ is a slightly different case for me because it's been like this for so long. I'm just indifferent towards it now, having been a huge fan of him in the past. He's also proving himself to be quite the sh*tty human too.

Wanderlei gone to bare knuckle as well. His face is messed up enough from scare tissue and plastic surgery.

Fighters ageing out with nothing else to doand not enough money leads to some depressing viewing.

Bellator could easily find BJ an opponent he could batter.

He was booked to fight Nik Lentz I think but the recent street fights were the final straw.

Looks like Diaz v Masvidal isn't on box office. Good news.

Now that Khabib has fought Poirier and Whittaker has fought Adesanya, I make it that there are no active* interim belts out there.

Anyone know when the last time that that was the case?

*Ferguson and Colvington are carrying around inactive ones

Bisping, if he's to be believed, fought the tail end of his career with a fake eye. I knew it was ****ed but Jesus Christ.

Ha yeah been the rumour for a while. Juiced up Belfort did that to him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,561 ✭✭✭JJayoo

But how would he get cleared by a doctor to fight with one eye?

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,322 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

It’s not a fake eye. It’s a cosmetic cover that makes it look normal. You’d notice in post fight interviews and other times that his eye would look odd. Guess those are times he didn’t have the cover in.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,561 ✭✭✭JJayoo

I always heard that his eye was fooked but once he retired he would be able to get it sorted? And until that point he had to get oil injected into it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,408 ✭✭✭Homelander

I knew it wasn't a fake eye, but can be see partially out of it or what's the story? I can't imagine he'd be cleared to fight with just one eye....or would he?

Think he said he had about 10% vision in it, so not completely blind, but pretty much.
I'd always thought it was the Hendo bomb that fecked up his eye, didn't realise it was TRTitor.
