Same as when they had events in reservations back in the day and Bellator do now, and when they have events in Ireland or the UK. Hire them directly.

Another point is the officials might get a call but will they be willing to work it out of 1). Covid19 Fears or 2). Professional fears for working outside of restrictions when this pandemic is over.

Still can't see this happening, US Government may not be able to stop it but I'm sure they can find a way to threaten the U.F.C with fines or regulatory action on return to normalcy.

See Luke Thomas has came out pretty much saying he's going to refuse to cover or discuss UFC249 on his independent platforms. Strong stance from him, strikes me as a very complicated man in general even odd could be used as a description.

I know that's how they hire officials etc for international events.

My query is how many of those officials will risk the wrath of the State Athletic Commission who provide the bulk of their income, to work some one off events for the UFC in controversial events that the SAC openly criticised.

As also pointed out by Mehaffey1 a few posts back.

Luke Thomas loves the sound of his own voice and is an egomaniac. The MMA Hour tanked with him in charge as did the MMA Beat podcast.

Let him act the hero I'm sure the Ufc wont care.

UFC shouldn't be going ahead with this, but that doesn't make Luke Thomas right.

He's a reporter and reports on MMA. MMA will be happening so just report on it. Nobody cares if he wants to "boycott" this or not. The news will just be reported elsewhere

It was painful listening to their round tables when he was in charge, wouldn't let anyone talk, had to have the last say, talking over the lads. No time for that or him.

Luke Thomas can be very annoying but he's one of the few MMA media members that isn't part of the PR arm of the UFC. Actually prefer him when he isn't talking about MMA. Cheerleaders are what Ariel Helwani, Brett Okamoto, Kevin Iole, John Morgan etc. are. Fair enough they don't want to be blackballed like Josh Gross and Jonathan Snowden but offer something other than what they currently do which is ask no hard questions and keep the negatives comments to a minimum. Possibly have an opinion about something.

What other group of sport journalists act like this? None because they're actually journalists not people who type up results and report on good UFC numbers and do softball interviews.

He's taken this fight on about 2 weeks notice.

Ferguson has been preparing for a fight the last 12 weeks.

I fully expect Ferguson to win based on the above.

Never took the second to stop and think about Rose being on the card. Considering her personality I'm not surprised if she's said no. Reading 'undisclosed reasons' but fair play to her if she has declined to fight. She runs into Dana's Wrath unfortunately as I'm sure he'll not hold back his comments.

The reservation in Connecticut is Monegan Sun. They are huge and have their own commission. They also sanction Belators UK/Ireland events.
Tachi Palace in a smaller reservation casino in California, they used to hold WEC events and regional shows. I'm not sure, but I don't think they have their own commission, looks like CSAC have been involved in previous shows.
This could be UFC solo, or Monegan Sun

The Mohegan Sun is closed to the public at the present time. I doubt they'd run anything as they have a great reputation and wouldn't risk losing that.

She was probably the worst big name to have on the card giving her personally issues , she seems to be a very fragil character its actually amazing that she made it as far as she has, Very troubled childhood and then her fiancé Barry had his fair share of drug issues that she had to deal with,

None of which has anything to do with a perfectly rational and sensible decision not to participate in this absolute farce.

When you take into account staff and customers, there's probably more people in my local Tesco now than there will be at this event.

'IF' all the attendees are being tested in advance to ensure they are symptom free, and providing there is the necessary medical care on site, I personally don't see the issue with the event going ahead.

Id agree with that but a lot more goes in having fights go ahead though. Camps have to be run, gyms need to be opened, training partners, blood tests (sent to labs that probably have better things to be doing) , travel and fight wear arranged, a whole multitude of things that will involve 100s more people doing things they wouldn't have to if this wasn't going ahead.

Getting groceries is essential. Having an MMA event is a complete and total luxury. It's a risk nobody needs to take.

This is about Dana White's ego, keeping up with Vince McMahon and cold hard cash.

The testing and doctors that will be needed could be much better used elsewhere also. Not as if we aren't already short worldwide!
